RAGBRAI - who's in?

I haven't gotten official notification but I would be surprised if I wasn't in. Our team has never gotten rejected and that includes the years before XXIV when I started going.

If I don't get a wristband, I guess I will have to go renegade.

I got mine, so you have a bus driver!

Bus driver = patron saint of RAGBRAI

Ain't that the truth. Nothings worse than having to split up driving duties because you don't have a driver. The best days always seemed to happen when I had to drive...at least that is what they always told me.:skeptical:

We are in.

Have you seen the new bus since they got it done?

Anyone in Des Moines area this weekend is welcomed to ride with the Des Moines Cyclone Club. Starting at Yankee clipper and going to Woodward and back. Should have a feel of a team ride and party with all Cyclone fans.

Just throwing that out.

I am a first time rider. 30 year old guy from Des Moines. I don’t know much about how the teams work. Anyone have any room for one person? What other options do I have if I can’t find a team or a wristband?

Any advice would be appreciated.

-Can you ride stag, without a team or wristband? Or is that discouraged?
-Any way to get back to DSM without a team? (Or to the start)
-Is all the camping full by now? Where can I set up camp if I don't find a team?

Couldn't you just drink for a week and skip the pretenses of riding a bike.

Since my first attempt didn't seem to post, let me try this again...

Our team is in desparate need of overnight hosts this year!! We have yet to secure housing in Anamosa, Sioux Center, and Lake View, and are looking for kind hearted souls to lend us some help. There would be around 15 to 20 of us in total, and probably less the first half of the week. All we require is space to park some tents and access to one bathroom (no towels required). If you don't want a bunch of smelly bikers stinking up your shower we also have a portable shower that we can set up outside and would just require a garden hose to run. We generally start arriving at the host home sometime mid-afternoon, and are generally gone by 8 AM the next day.

I know you don't know me or any of my group, so please send me a PM and we can discuss. If anybody can be of any assistance our group would be indebted to you forever, thanks!! :)

Is everyone getting excited? Only 16 more days!

Tomorrow is 3rd Annual Brewery 100. 102miles and 8 breweries. A perfect tune up for RAGBRAI!

Is there a website for this? or is this just a local group that does this? I don't think I'll be participating in this event, but maybe next year...

Nope its not a real ride. Its our ride. This year there are four of us. Of course the more the merrier so if anyone wants to ride with us they are more than welcome to.
