Radar detectors scramblers

Its not the people that go 5 over I worry about. It the ******* weaving in and out of traffice at 10 more. I am perfectly aware of cops who pull people over for going 66 in a 65. Its unfortunate but it happens.

I would agree. If you're zipping in and out of traffic like that, then yes, you probably deserve a ticket. What id really like to see would be variable speed limits. Start lowering them during heavy traffic, but during lighter traffic, raise it. If youre downtown dsm going 70mph during rush hour, theres no way you arent zipping between lanes going around people, but at night often you have all 3 lanes to yourself and could very safely be going 80-90mph (barring weather conditions)

Radar detectors are legal. (And totally not worth it if I might add.)

Yeah; help me understand here - if your detector signals incoming radar, doesn't that mean the cop already has your speed detected?

I guess it might be helpful if you're in a pack of vehicles and the cop can't sort everybody out.

no... with most radar, you can 'hear' the cop coming a long time before he can see you

Valentine One is the best. As far as radar, here is what you need to know.

There are a ton of different types of radar. There are bands like K, KA, super wide KA, etc. These are the types that are always on and a detector can pick these up. Most speed cameras us KA wideband

Instant on K band. If the cops pulls the trigger on someone else there is a chance that your radar detector will go off otherwise it may be too late

Laser is the hardest to pick up. Cops must be parked and outside of glass when they pull the trigger. When you see the cops with a radar gun stopped and sticking outside the window, it's most likely a laser and you're probably ****ed.

I used to use radar detectors and they were useful back then but not so much anymore. I find it more important to focus on my driving. Things like only only using the left lane for passing will save you a ton of tickets.

It pisses me off that Des Moiens is going to install speed cameras on 235. The day they add them is the day I remove my front plate.

I don't know about scramblers, but the best radar detector is a Valentine One.

The Valentine one is hands down the best detector on the market. I travel a lot and usually do 80. I have gotten caught twice since I have had it. The first time was because I and ignored my V1, I thought I was going the speed limit. The second time I got the old time/distance from a plane. Otherwise, the V1 has saved me over 500 dollars in speeding tickets alone.

I personally do not speed in town so I keep the V1 off. But on the highway this thing will pick up a cop “popingâ€￾ a mile away. POPing is where a police officer will turn on his/her radar when a car is right in front of them.

I have never stood by a product so much in my life. The directional arrows do wonders. You defiantly get what you pay for, and when they release new versions, they upgrade your unit at cost.

Go to their site and do some research, you won’t be disappointed.

I believe the best investment you can make to prevent speeding tickets is to give money to the state troopers/police and receive a sticker to put in your rear window.

Come on, they tell you when they call that it wont stop you from getting a ticket!

I hate those damn calls.

Best one thats failproof.... will never get stopped for speeding, get a ticket for speeding..... its called the Bell obey the speed signs detector and best price...... its free
