I agree with this assessment. Looking at what we've gotten, it does look pretty good.
1. Wigginton is a great recruit
2. Lewis is a great recruit.
3. Shayock is a great transfer
4. Brase is a gamble but has really good upside.
5. Beverly should be solid and could be really good.
6. Jacobson has already been an important contributor at a Power 5 school and has a pretty good resume.
Yes, the McNeil thing is ugly for a couple of reasons. First, if we'd known earlier, it seems like we could have had McKinley Wright who is (probably) a more well-rounded guard at this time, albeit with less upside. Second, it left our Freshman class really small when it would have been nice to have bigger numbers this year.
It would have been nice to get the big guy that went to UNLV or the guard from NM. However, if Brase is reasonably healthy this year and at least one of Babb or Long shows some improvement, we've got a bit of depth this year and we look very strong the following year.
