Question for Jon Miller

i could be wrong but i didn't think that he said this year i thought he was talking more about after his junior year

I said he could play his way into the league this year, that was during his run of five games or so out of six with 20 or more. Then he reinjured his foot.

He probably wouldn't have done it anyway...I just really like that kid and his skill set, and he had pro written all over him from the minute he walked onto the court...which is why his recruitment is still baffling.

His recruitment isn't really THAT baffling. He wasn't highly recruited out of HS, so he went to prep school. After HS, he grew something like 5". And, his prep school shut down, so no one saw the new, taller WJ play. One of the ISU assistants kept in contact with him, so ISU got the commitment.

Nothing against Stinson but I'd pick Wesley. A lot more versitile and has a better upside.

It's tough. Stinson could CLOSE games. You give him the ball, he finds a way to get it in the hoop. This year, we don't have that go to guy down the stretch....thus we lose many games where we're tied around the 4-5 minute mark.

I would pick Stinson.

People love to remember the "bad" things about him, but he was a lot of fun to watch and a very good player. He is one of the better guards Iowa State has ever had, and we have had some really good ones.

I would probably take Wesley over Blalock, but that is a tough decision. I would say both of them are great college players but neither of them has the ability to really take over a game, and people will probably disagree with that. People like Stinson, Fizer, Tinsley from the recent past and a host of others if you go back a ways would flat out make sure that we won games. I don't see Wesley doing that, and Blalock didn't really have that mentality.

Wesley (and Blalock in a similar manner) would be absolutely amazing if he was on a team like Kansas in my opinion, where he could be a very very skilled complementary player to some of the best talent in the country. His length and athleticism would really allow him to flourish. That's part of the reason I do think he will go on to the NBA and do quite well.

A player like Stinson would still be an asset to a great team, but I think his style of play and attitude dictated that he not be a complementary player, but rather the focal point of a team. This team could use a focal point, so I would take Stinson. But if I could really have anyone from Iowa State history, I'll take Tinsley every time.
