I agree that the fan base would be disappointed but the fan base is not going to evaporate. Look at the history of ISU football. Look at the improvements being made and the youth of our squad. We are improving while playing a more difficult schedule. But the difficult schedule is the new reality. IMO, Rhoads is STILL the man for ISU. The Messingham choice set us back. It is apparent now that Klenakis was not a good choice either. Along with some recruiting misses and attrition.
We have not sunk to the unbelievable low that we were in Mac's last year. There was absolutely no enthusiasm at all. We were headed for a disastrous recruiting class when Mac was let go. I don't see that being the case now.
This is exactly how I feel about this season. Ferentz was butchered in the offseason after Iowa went 4-8 even though that was the first year GD came in with his system. Fortunately for Ferentz he had accomplished enough in Iowa City to absorb the awful season (although he lost a ton of fan support).
I'm not sure Rhoads has accomplished enough in Ames to absorb two horrible seasons in a row, and if he has then I don't how I feel about expectations that are set that low. Mangino is an experienced coach, and he's got quite a bit of experience on offense to work with. Sooner or later you have to be able to prove things are moving in the right direction. Another 3 or 4 win season proves nothing. This will be Rhoads 6th season and 3rd offensive coordinator. I know Herman leaving wasn't his fault, but do you really keep giving him two additional seasons every time he changes the OC? That's a slippery slope.

The Stadium upgrades will help Rhoads in upgrading our team. Facility improvement helps in selling recruits to come to ISU. In 2015, the ISU team should be set to have a decent season. The fan base should be excited about the gameday atmosphere and enhanced Stadium experience. The team should have an improved attitude. Look at Farniok's comments concerning Mess and Klenakis. Our offense was a Mess and no one had any trust or confidence in what we were doing. That has been changed.

So how much $$$$$ have you contributed to help ISU in achieving the goals you seek? Perhaps it is your own lack of commitment and others like yourself that are holding us back. Time to go ALL IN..........if you are really an ISU fan.

I usually attend two or three ISU games a year. Depends when they are playing. I have season tickets to the Iowa games, but I always have a ticket available for me in Jack Trice if I want it.
I don't really care that you are trying to make this argument. However, I have a feeling there's a ton of ISU fans out there who don't go to games who feel like that shouldn't make their opinion matter any less than yours. Some people aren't fortunate enough to be able to do that.
Well, sorry if I don't feel that a Hawkeye Season Ticket Holder has ISU Football's best interests in mind.
Call me skeptical of your true intent. For those of us who live and breathe ISU football and are totally ALL IN, we are willing to give CPR more time than you wish. And Pollard should listen to US before he listens to Hawkeye Season Ticket Holders and supporters.

Came to the thread to get any updates from those with "sources" about the QB situation. Instead, found a bunch of responses to Troll110 (whose posts I don't see unless someone responds to him). Why not take him to another thread and save this one for the actual topic? Getting us to talk to him about the usual stupid stuff is Trolling 101.

What am I supposed to do to hold him accountable. Complain on a message board? If that's it than I think you have already held him accountable enough for the rest of us.
And the 8 win thing is pretty simple. If Rhoads's teams won 6 games against hard schedules, than they probably would have won more games against easier schedules. And if you think it's so unlikely since it's only happened once in 30 years than I guess we should all just agree that 6 or 7 wins is Iowa State's ceiling.
I am arguing that Rhoads has been a definite improvement over Chizik and Mac. And last season was an anomaly.
IMO, playing every team in the Big 12 with 9 conference games versus only playing 8 conference games and being in the Big 12 North is much more difficult than before. I am looking for improvement over last season this year and even more improvement the following year.
Hist peak was probably the 2011 season, and it's been downhill since there. I think last year was just a bad year on defense. He's obviously making attempts to fix the offensive problems too.

I would guess half the people posting on this site don't have season tickets. Actually that would be an interesting poll to start. I'd be curious to know the results. ISU season package prices aren't near as expensive as Iowa's so I suppose there could be quite a large number of people on here who do make the purchase.
Anyways, let's say only 30% of the posters on this site have season tickets... that means your opinion matters more than theirs because you go to every game? Sorry but I don't see it that way. From my perspective, as a fan my opinion means just as much as the next guy whether or not they can afford tickets to every game. I don't view myself as somehow more important than them. The only way I might feel that way is if I donated millions and I'm certainly not lucky enough to be able to do that.
And no of course I'm not calling for Fran to be fired after last seasons collapse. Fran's results are the opposite of what Rhoads has accomplished. He's slowly moved things forward while Rhoads has slowly slid back. However, I'm going to do everyone else a favor and stay away from that debate.

Quite simply stated, to be able to hold someone accountable you have to have authority over them. Unless any of you are JP or President Leath I highly doubt you have anyway of holding CPR accountable in anything other than in your imagination -even if you pay, you still have no say! JP doesn't manage from some election process - he may listen to opinions,but he ultimately makes the decision.

You state that ISU's season tickets "aren't near as expensive as Iowa's", yet you have season tickets to Iowa Football while professing to be a diehard Cyclone fan. LOL. That is a good one. I also find it comical that you somehow think that gas money getting to a game and money spent for food at concessions somehow amounts to a "donation". It is not.
You can talk to Jamie Pollard about how much your opinion matters. Because the truth is, it is the ones who make the donations and buy the tickets are the ones whose opinion will likely be listened to. Some Hawkeye season ticket holder who always has a ticket available to him when he wants it (and probably does not pay for it), is likely to not be listened to much. After all, WHICH team would you wish to be MORE successful if it was your choice to make and there could only be one?
The general perception is that the ISU football team is very young, yet has some talent. And the analysis of recruiting classes indicates that the ISU football team is getting better recruits each year. That indicates improvement in the program overall even though last year's record is not indicative of it.
YES!!!! A season ticket holders opinion is more important than a fan sitting at home not spending money on the program (or in your case sitting in Iowa's stadium spending your money there).
In my racing I have people that pay me to advertise on my racecar, if they have something to say I listen. If someone who doesn't contribute to me has something to say I could care less what they have to say.
