Putting on my socks

Is this an impossible task to anyone else? At some point I got old enough that this became insanely difficult. There has to be a better way.
Not going to lie it got increasingly more difficult after all the years of beer

When I can't put on my socks anymore just put me out of my misery, I had a good run but it's clearly over at that point.
Woooaaah man, no need to take radical actions like that. We’ll just chop your feet off so there’s no more need for the socks. Problem solved.

This is cold and non-considerate of others who have commented about their personal situation in this thread IMO.

67 (and a half) and no problem with socks.

I just lost 32 pounds (and almost to my goal weight) but before I started I sometimes wondered how my arms got so short I could barely (of course it was barely, sheesh!) reach around to wipe. That job sure got easier since I've lost the extra lb-bage.

That said, I switched my everyday shoes to walking shoes with the elastic-y stuff in the eyes - they are no tie. Game changer! Never have to tie my shoes and I definitely DON'T miss realizing my shoe is untied and having to find a place to prop my foot up to retie it.

How about clipping your toenails or washing your feet in the shower? I can still do the socks, toenails, etc. but I'm one of the lucky ones.

I can't being to explain the level of comfort I now have knowing I'm not the only one.

One good thing about this thread, I really thought I was nearing the end of my rope. The fact that just this morning, I put each sock on, while standing on one leg, without any other support, I might just have a few more years left.

I heard someone say that was a good way to test/improve your balance. I'm almost 40, and there's been a few days where I'm able to do socks and shoes like that.

But then last night, I feel down trying to take my shorts off. All you have to do is drop them and step out.

I suspect that standing while fishing from my Kayak really helps my balance as well. It took me a while to get comfortable doing it and I kind of have to re-learn it every spring. It's crazy how if you don't work on your balance how poor it can get.
