Putting on my socks

Tattoo socks on your feet and call it a day
You think that's easier to do than putting on socks?

EDIT: I have sat down to put on socks for years. We've had a chair in our bedroom for what seems like forever, and it's primarily for sitting in to don socks, shoes, etc. Yes, it's clothes hanger, too. Beats me why people think they must stand up.

I'm 53 and can't believe how easy it is to put on socks and clip my nails now. I lost 15 - 20 pounds and have been doing a lot of PT for lower back and hip pain. After seeing my flexibility improve dramatically I plan to do stretches daily until I can't. Just promise yourself to do 10 minutes stretching daily and you will surprise yourself. Maybe go to a PT to get the best stretches for you. Start with 10 toe touches daily. Add in 10 squats when you can. Then work towards other stretches, you will thank yourself down the road.

I have no issue with socks and not overweight (anymore) but I still grunt like 90 yr old man whenever I get up from a chair or especially off the god forsaken floor.

I suspect that standing while fishing from my Kayak really helps my balance as well. It took me a while to get comfortable doing it and I kind of have to re-learn it every spring. It's crazy how if you don't work on your balance how poor it can get.

It probably engages the core and other areas more than it seems. Similarly I avoid a back support/chair in my canoe so I have to work a bit to keep upright and paddle.

Functional fitness rules.

I threw out my lower back gardening a few weeks ago. I twist into all sorts of positions to get socks on. Also sucks ass to wipe

Because I hurt my back gardening.

I've noticed in the last year that it's harder than I ever imagined. That and getting the leg high enough to put on the unders. Age and weight aren't friends.
And, you only get a microsecond first chance at this maneuver, else you trip and are on the floor.

Who wears socks in the summertime?

Humble brag I guess, but I'm a big guy, I'm 52, my knees aren't good, but for some reason, putting on socks has never entered my mind as something difficult to do. I'm assuming it doesn't bother me at all because I've never thought that it was getting hard to do.

I will say this though, I do stretch, not just in the morning, but also at night about an hour before I go to bed I do a good stretch, especially my legs.
Hey humble brag, 25 years ago, everyone on this thread could do it also.

I can put on my left sock, but my right hip has no give anymore. I hold my breath and reach beyond the painful point just to slip the top of my sock over my toes. Then I take a breath and work it up over my foot.

I see some say don't wear socks, yeah that's fine when you are younger and you get blood circulating into your feet. I'm 68 and my feet feel like their filled with ice, year round. It just happens!
Yeah, And, add in blood thinners. My feet are colder in the summer than winter when everyone has their AC set on frigid.
