PSU Campbell Presser

Yep. I will also take OP responsibility on that day with for 2 historic posts. The first that had that video .... Campbell Ohio Game Exit Video and Who's On Pollards Short List. Good times! I've posted on both sides of Campbell Mountain!
It’s the one reason I see Campbell having issues at PSU. It took one fan to say something and Matt acted like he was ready for fisticuffs. Have a stretch at PSU like his 4 losses this year and he will hear a lot worse than “Hot Seat!” Hell, lose to a Colorado caliber team at PSU and see what **** gets thrown at him.

Seeing that video again, I forgot how embarrassed I was at Campbell for that. You are getting paid millions of dollars to coach football. Just go to the locker room.

It’s one of the more embarrassing things I’ve seen an ISU coach do.

It’s between that and Paul Rhoads getting on his knees seemingly begging the official to give him a call during a game, which everyone could see on the broadcast. I liked Paul’s raw emotion usually, but that was a bit much.

I'd be surprised if Matt doesn't do well at Penn State. Their schedule next year is extremely easy. However, I don't know if his performance will be all that different from James Franklin. I think he's more likable though, so he may last longer.

Can we all just go spam this all over the Penn State boards so they can see who they just hired?
They’ve seen it and said Franklin wanted to fight a bunch of fans over the years. They like the response.

HOWEVER, I don’t expect MC to enjoy the brash, loud, call outs he’s about to experience at pedo state.

This is kinda an interesting take I’ve heard a couple times but by all accounts people liked Franklin, players loved him, he was a great recruiter, good with the alumni, it’s a part of the reason he lasted so long.

I always got the exact opposite vibe from CMC, seemed to be trying to hard to be Belichick with the non responses and bad press conferences

I think he's very different than Franklin and maybe why Penn State likes him. I have to admit I'm very interested to see what he does at Penn State and I've never liked Penn State. They aren't a blue blood, but they think they are so they will expect results that they really never have had.

There aren’t any players on campus. Any work he’s doing recruiting wise is just as easy from NYC as it is in Happy Valley.

The last few weeks before break there weren't players on campus? He can't work connections etc in Happy Valley?

What was he going to do at the Pinstripe Bowl?

I'm sure there's exceptions like Barry Alvarez getting his fix but he was at least at the school and the AD...do people actually think when a new coach is chosen they take the reigns for two weeks of bowl game prep from the cureent season?

CyDude - welcome back! Look forward to you dumbing any post critical of Campbell.

Dis Santa bring you the Rocco Becht Penn State jersey you were hoping for this Christmas?

The guy blew a gasket because some random drunk guy yelled “Hot Seat” after we got beat by a G5 team. Guys skin was paper thin.

It wasn’t just that. The guy was yelling all game at the players and staff. And it’s not the first away game where said guy was yelling at the team.

Still didn’t agree with Campbell’s reaction, but it’s not like it was just a one off.

Obviously most of the players should like him. Why else would they go there?

Penn State must have not liked him that much if they fired him a few games after losing in CFB semifinal the year before by 3 points.

He was there for 10 years and lost to a horrible UCLA team after having a horrific record in big games. At some point he’s just not the guy and that UCLA game was the tipping point. If they beat them by the 21 they were supposed to he most likely finishes the season as the playoff hopes are still alive

Penn State hasn't won the Big 10 in almost 20 years. After one upset (where they lost by like 5 points), they fired the guy who was a touchdown away from making the national championship last year.

I get it, but if you like/have faith in someone, you probably don't do that.

Yeah I get you point but after 10 years he is what he is. And that UCLA loss was horrific. That was really what did him in

But your first point is valid as to why they aren’t a blue blood and why their coaches will have a longer leash
