PSU Campbell Presser

At the risk of turning this into another Iowa-DCI-was-wrong thread... I'd say the time our staff and players made national headlines for breaking gambling rules was a pretty rough look
Rough look for Iowa LE. IMO. Very rough.

Watching Matt's presser at Penn State.... I'm even more appreciative of having JP here. Matt's walking into a sh*t show at Penn State... yikes. That guy he's going to be working for is a CLOWN.

Expectations have already been put on Matt in this presser... gotta take PSU to a National Title. That's a lot for a guy who said winning isn't the most important thing. Good luck Matt!

Also... almost made me puke when Matt talked about the integrity that Penn State University stands for.
I would put bets on it that Matt is not the coach in 5 years. Penn State is just Nebraska 2.0. Hasn't won a thing in 40 years with expectations that are national championships or nothing.

They have resources but nothing 20ish other programs don't have.

Expectations to beat 20 other teams that have at least the same advantages is no small burden.

That said...if they can just win a Big Ten CCG that would get them over the hump Franklin couldn't. It's not even easy to finish first out of those 18 but more reasonable than expecting NCs. If matt had the most resources in B12 I think we'd have won a B12 CCG with him, we were an eyelash from beating OU anyway without any equal footing.

Well, this sure dispels the OP. All it really says is ISU lacked resources and had to have people like Blum run the collective to raise funds. Thats not a bash on the athletic dept or anyone else. It was reality

There's a lot of emotional coping with some difficult modern realities going on the past week.

So you don't think Campbell is a good coach? Why can't he do at least what Franklin did? I mean if he's not even good enough to keep his job at Penn State for 5 years I'm not sure why anyone cares he left. I guarantee you he's the coach there for a while. I bet he does well there.

Its a better ******* job and he was bored in Ames after 10 years. You only live once. Apparently that's hard for some to grasp. I would have left for the opportunity too.

Matt is a damn good coach, but the expectations are through the roof at Penn State and he will be expected to win national championships.

I think he'll have a lot of success there.

Why the hell can't he meet the expectations? He's good enough to do at least what Franklin did and that guy kept his job for 10 years. Campbell was competing with OU at ISU so I don't know why he wouldn't be able to have some success against the best in the Big 10.
