Prohm's Ties

Might be petty, but I've noticed in multiple games that Prohm isn't wearing any Cardinal and/or Gold . Now, usually this is covered with some kind of tie, and I'd think it'd go without saying that's part of your game day wardrobe. It actually drove me nuts in the game at Kansas that he was wearing a BLUE tie, who does that? I saw against TCU it was some sort of Lime Green. It may be petty but I really can't grasp the idea of not sporting the colors in some way. Thought I'd check and see if there was some story behind it, maybe the ties are some kind of fundraiser/awareness thing.

I forget what game it was but didn't last year Prohm wear a black tie that had "TIME OUT" in bold white lettering on it? If I recall correctly I smiled, chuckled to myself and thought "well, I've never seen that before. Meh, who cares, as long as his wife loves him and his players listen to him then he can wear whatever he wants"

One year later, a similar situation arises, my thought process hasnt changed. But, I bet that TIME OUT tie really boiled the OP's blood.
Probably had something to do with this:

FOUND IT on google images! I love this guy. This has "my son just got me this tie for Christmas and I don't care what you all think, I'm gonna wear it because it'll make him giggle" wrote all over it.

People have spent so many keystrokes worrying about Prohm's fashion. I can't even believe this happens.
Fashion is serious business

Also, my daughters recently informed me that some of the most famous social media celebrities in the world are makeup artists and then they had me watch a video from one. It was as painful as it sounds.

It's not a hating on Prohm, I just don't understand why any coach who wears a suit and tie can't represent team colors in some fashion. At the very least consciously decide every game to not wear an opposing team's color.

Why does it matter?

I think it foolish they wear suits at all. I would have no problem with them dressing the way football coaches do.

Has to be uncomfortable out there. The last thing I want to be doing is sweating in dress clothes.

Why does it matter?

It's athletics, your colors are your brand, it's part of your uniform. Does it matter as in anybody is going to lose sleep over it? Of course not. But basketball coaching wardrobes are the outlier here.

- Baseball coaches and managers were their team uniforms.
- Football coaches all wear matching team attire.
- Wrestling coaches are a mixed bag, but donning a team color is the norm.
- Basketball coaches just wake up and toss on whatever they find in their closet that day. In context of athletics as a whole, especially in the era of apparel contracts, the lack of branding or consistency is certainly an oddity.

For the fun police in here, blame/email JP. These are the discussions we must resort to with no midweek basketball game on the schedule.

Remember Larry and his black mock turtlenecks? The key to the Elite Eight run.

GD, Steve, take that suit off and put on real coaching attire.
