PREDICTIONS: Iowa State vs. Texas

Better QB and WR's is a laugher but I do believe we win and it is because of out improved defensive front and our QB play.
Did you watch the USC Texas game?

I am not impressed with Darnold and he has really lost a lot of money this year. That is pretty common knowledge. he went from Heisman hopeful to people saying...WTF? Park has a better pocket presence, quicker release and at least as strong a arm if not better. Darnold has already thrown 7 INTs this year.

USC's WRs dropped more passes against Texas than iSu did against iowa. That says a lot. Burnett> Lazard. Mitchell is a nice player but I would probably take Butler. After those two...they have very little production. Heck their next three receivers are two RBs and a TE. So I would take Lazard, Butler, Ryen, Jones, Murdock over Burnett, Mitchell, Green, Vaughn. USC has the best player, iSu has the deeper Corp

I think both offenses could start sluggishly out of the gate. Texas OL is down two starters (including future NFL draft pick) and their run game is not dynamic enough to make their own plays, like DM can. ISU may struggle w/Texas' physical and fast defense and the odd 3-3-5 look. However, ISU has more offensive playmakers and, over the course of the game, they should make more plays down the stretch.

I understand the concerns and the hesitancy to "over-step" your excitement but honestly ISU is the better team here and if they don't win I'll be semi-frustrated and so should everyone. Not Coach Prohm sucks frustrated because, I've never understood constantly ******** about coaches. But seriously, why the Texas love....

I've seen it suggested they have an awesome fast DL yet they gave up 51 to Maryland. Yes I get the comparing "scores trap" yet I have seen the USC score referenced 20 times?!?!

Over the years some teams, especially, conference "brothers" and Blue Bloods in particular are given more credence than they deserve.

1st yes Texas has tons of 4-stars but they have forever.

2nd I think Herman is a fne enough coach but I'm not at all conviced he is a "guru"

3rd..I've seen it suggested their defense is faster than any ISU has faced but a quick perusal of NFL draft scout, where I have gone for years to get a forty gauge, suggests they are likely NOT any faster than Iowa, if at all.

4th...Again with the supposed great athleticism, but again a quick perusal doesn't suggest to me Texas' O-players will be faster than what ISU has.

No Parks isn't better than Darnold as was suggested above, but I do believe he is a quicker starter and a legitimate NFL candidate. Montgomery isn't necessarily better than Jones or Carr, but every bit a stud in his own right and yes I do think ISU has better WR's.

Texas better be worried and USC may prove to be great team down the road but of the top 10 teams, they have impressed me the least along with Michigan.

Have heart...31-17 ISU

If you buy into ProFootballFocus' stuff, Taz is actually correct that Darnold hasn't performed up to expectations this year and is struggling with intermediate and deep throws.

I'm not saying he's been perfect, but he's had a much harder schedule as well. I just am not gonna put him and park on the same level just yet.......

You can't agree with this anymore, can you? I still like Park and that wasn't his best obviously, but he isn't a Top 5 QB in the country.

Was unable to watch the game, due to my daughters Sr swim night, but I never said he was a top 5. I said he was better than Darnold and I don't think Darnold is top 5 and has been very average this year. Judging by stats...they both struggled against Texas and Park had a worse game. Judging by comments...the offensive game plan was not good.

The fact that Montgomery only got 14 touches is mind blowing to me. Absolutely mind blowing

I'll probably sit and watch the game tonight.

So he's a pretty unanimous top overall pick in the draft, but he's not a top 5 QB in college?

Save yourself and just watch the Defense last night to see what effort looks like.
