PREDICTIONS: Iowa State vs. Texas

I think all of you are wrong! ;)

Seriously, I don't know what to think. Campbell could really use a W for a stepping-stone. If UT does improve as season progresses, it could mark his first win over a bowl-eligible team at ISU. And the prime time spotlight would be a fun immediate boost.

I'm bracing for another "almost," but hope I'm incorrect.

Texas 33, Iowa State 31.

ISU squeaks by with a 34-33 win. Texas's D will give us fits for the post part, but our D steps up for at least 1 score in the 2nd half to help out. Our D does decent, but really steps up in the 4th querter and shuts down Texas on a few key drives. Texas will kick a FG with under 5 minutes left to go up 33-27. Park leads ISU on a game winning drive to put ISU up 34-33 for good.

Should be a great game with strength vs strength. It will come down to iSu offense vs Texas defense and which one of those groups wins more battles. I actually think iSu has more offensive weapons than USC and USC was able to to hand 30 on Texas.I think Park moves in the pocket and has a quicker release than Darnold. I think Montgomery is hand down better than Carr or Jones, and I think our WR Corp is at least an equal.
USC did not work the edges of the field near enough which is where Texas is vulnerable. I see iSu doing this a lot. I see Montgomery being HUGE in the short passing game.

Texas has struggled running the ball except against SJSU. As always, that should be a key. If iSu can stop the run with the front 7 then the Safeties can focus on their coverage.

I think Montgomery and the combo of Ryen/Jones have big games receiving

Texas jumps out to a good lead in the first half as ISU fights the pressure of the Thursday night prime time.

Cyclones chip away in the second half to make it close and put themselves in position to make one or two more plays for the win.

Something cosmic and never-before-seen in a football game intervenes and lets Texas slink away with another stolen W.

Texas 37, ISU 35

Clean up the drops, improve safety play, and break out a new return man and we win a shoot out- 38-31.

like your thinking but i have a bad feeling DM will have to be blocking/chipping instead of running routes. same with TE ( or lazard). our WR are still having some trouble with separation it seems. im looking for texas front 7 to control the game.

they make a few big plays in the passing game.
