Are you going to have a Post-Memorial Day update on this, J-Bone?Odd statements of denial from somebody that fancies themselves as connected. I love to criticize the media but they've been pretty conservative in reporting this whole thing, to be quite honest. If you want to pretend like there has been nothing to talk about, believe what you may.
If you want to trade Thibs why would you let the other jobs get filled? I don't know basketball policy so is there a benefit to doing that?
Fred is friends with them, so he doesn't have that rift Thibs does.
Tim Floyd was buddies with Jerry Krause. How did that work out?
Theres examples of any scenario going any way. What's your point?

Are we going to have a Post-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update thread? Timing seems appropriate.
My point is that regardless whoever is the GM of the Bulls, there eventually became friction between the front office and the coach--every coach up to Doug Collins. It's the culture of management there. Jerry Krause was friends with Phil Jackson and Tim Floyd, where both friendships were erased eventually. Thus any friendship with Gar Forman will most likely be wrecked unless Hoiberg becomes a lapdog AND has success.
Just throw all the moneys at Fred! Seriously, what are we waiting for?!
Go back and read Jeremy's post at the beginning of this thread. Donors aren't going to "throw all the money at Fred" unless they can also be assured that he wants to be here for the longer-term. JP is 100% correct. This isn't about the money--it's about what Fred wants to do. If Hoiberg decides to stay at ISU he absolutely needs to give assurances that he won't be flirting with the NBA every season like this. If he can commit and agree to a larger NBA buyout, then I have no doubt ISU (and the donors) will be able to find the money.
