Rewatching the game. There’s a couple times Jackson gets the ball in the post and he barrels toward the rim and Iowa players just get out of the way. What a bunch of softies. Don’t even bother trying to get a charge call
Sandfort does this about half the time he's "defending" the post. But let's hear again how he's an NBA rotation player.

I found it very odd that Chris Williams said multiple times in the postgame pod that "Iowa didn't play its best game" or they "didn't bring their A game"... what the hell you smokin, Chris!? Iowa played out of their a** for like 33 minutes. Like, literally their A+ game. And they couldn't pull away from us.
I haven't watched Iowa this year (because I really don't care) but I thought they looked really good last night. They were shooting lights out, handled our defense pretty well, and played solid defense themselves. I thought their transition defense was really good for most of the game. Over on the Iowa board, the consensus seemed to be they played the best basketball of the season the first 30 minutes

Yeah there was never anything out of bounds, I have no idea what the officials were looking at on the replay.

It should have been an inadvertant whistle and went to the possession arrow which would have given ISU the ball.
If anything, it should have been a foul on Iowa. You can't unblow the whistle, so the fair thing would have been to go to the possession arrow. Iowa got a gift on that one.

They can move very the ball well on offense and have guys that can score it. They can also get back on Defense when they’re focused and motivated. What they’ll never be able to do is defend the post or rebound. Therefore their ceiling is once again pretty low.

She missed on a bowl last night :( never seen her miss

At the start of halftime the tall Werner Ladder was brought out and put right by one of the baskets for her to get on her tall unicycle. I turned to a Cyclone fan beside me and said, "Oh look, after that amazing first half the Hawks are going to cut the nets down."

I thought I was taking crazy pills last night. Curtis Jones hit a 3 to make it 13-15 and then Heise had an and 1 to take the lead, but ended up being 15-15. Apparently the score was wrong on FS1?

I remember this too - iirc, Iowa State was supposed to be at 9 points instead of 10 before Curtis Jones’ 3. For some reason it took them forever to correct the score bug.

About 1 and a half or two minutes of game time in Raftery made the call of the game.

It described to a tee how we were going right through them despite trailing most of the way.

The old coach in him came roaring out and said, “Ya gotta stick someone”.

Oh, that's clever, it really is. Kudos to you!

Although I gotta say, from what history I've read, they're both questionable human beings from a moral point of viewpoint.

No more than a side comment.
I can't take credit. Stole it from someone. John Walters maybe?

He spiked the ball *right* in front of Doug Sirmons. Doug absolutely loves handing out Ts, I couldn't believe it
I think what Sirmons saw was him spike the ball and appear to prepare to then catch it on the rebound but he spiked it off his foot so it got away from him. Probably still T worthy but he gave him the benefit of the doubt which is surprising for Sirmons.
