My wife gets annoyed with me (don't blame her) when I keep pausing the games on TV to point out little things that usually go unnoticed. I guess she doesn't appreciate my 'expertise'.

Anyway I had to pause the game last night to point out something that showed what an awesome culture TJ has built on this team.

It was late in the game when ISU had come on strong to finally take the lead for good. The camera showed the ISU bench where Milan and Jackson (2 starters who had been sitting almost all of the 2nd half) we're going nuts. You could see from their celebrations they were the happiest guys in the building because their team was winning, never mind the fact that they were starters who were watching it from the bench.

This 'team over individual' mentality is a pretty powerful thing, especially in the new NIL world.

Freeman had a hanging on the rim that would be a tech half the time, wasn't just normal hang on the rim but like kicking around his legs as much as he could.

They were amped and they had their superbowl win celebrations...midway through the loss.
He did a Hawkeye pull-up.

Iowa is a tough out at Carver. They can spread you out and then get lights out with the 3 point shooting. Iowa playing in Ames is a different story- ISU by 25. Iowa, typically, does not shoot near as well on the road.

The same could be said for a majority of the Big 12 opponents we'll face this year. This will be uncharted territory where we could see some court storming when we lose a few road games.

I don't know when it happened but Rivals Hawkeye changed from GoIowaawesome, which might be the dumbest name ever to Hawkeye Beacon. Also, they changed it from black and gold to Cyclone black and white. We must have really taken their hearts from them. Can't believe they are using our colors now.

That's the key ingredient to TJs recipe. And he has great young men on the team that fully embrace it. All the way to the end of the bench

Rewatching the game. There’s a couple times Jackson gets the ball in the post and he barrels toward the rim and Iowa players just get out of the way. What a bunch of softies. Don’t even bother trying to get a charge call
