This could also mean that a player like Edozie isn't progressing as fast as the staff thought he would, so they figure they might as well make use of the open scholarship and get another big body.
Also Demontre isn't listed in the ISU student directory.

Haven't yall seen the type of transfers Fred gets? This allows for him to add another big time transfer for next season. The team really doesn't need an 12th man who isn't going to play people are being crazy wanting to get someone in last minute. Naz Long is good and much better than Bubu addition by subtraction freeing up his scholly next season.
Forgive me for asking a stupid question here, but is Bubu's status final? I thought he might be able to appeal the appeal? Maybe I read the article wrong.
I cant remember where but someone posted the student handbook or w/e and I think it said leath is responsible for the decision and his decision is final. I could be mistaken though.
I don't think Fred agreed with you that Naz > Bubu, so I'll trust Fred. In fact, just about 10 days ago, Fred said on KXNO that Bubu would probably start and that he was our best backcourt defender and ball handler.
Secondly, IF he did bring this guy in, he may have told him that if he doesn't pan out his scholarship is temporary. Given this young man's situation, that may have been attractive to him. He didn't exactly have a lot of options. This way, he provides an extra big body for practice, or God forbid injuries, etc. Plus, maybe there is a 1 in 5 chance that he's better than previously thought and earns a scholarship. If not, Fred helps him land at a program he's more likely to contribute to in the spring.
Except rhe football season started when camp started which is the determinant I believe not classes. Camp is when the headcount takes place. So for basketball I assume it would be the beginning of the fall practices in 25 days.
