Possible huge snow storm next week?

What are the best websites to look at short-term but regional weather forecasts?

I will be driving from Omaha to Fort Collins, CO sometime after Sunday. Time for sure is still up in the air (Mom is in hospital in Omaha, recovering but want to make sure it's OK to leave). Thinking Monday will work the best logistically, but Sunday might have to be it if they keep moving this storm forward.

The weather guru on CF said it's shifted back further south and east than his previous forecast...putting Des Moines smack dab in the highest totals of over a foot. He said central Iowa, through the Twin Cities and western WI are going to get pounded.

He is still guessing just like the models.

LOL umm, exactly. I didn't say he was right. It's just more info. Deep breaths bud...don't make it a competition. You're expertise is still fine.

I predict a track south of Twin Cities probably. I'll be okay but I think all of you in Iowa are probably going to die.

This is what Boxster is saying.

I think the part that worries me is if we get any wind past 25mph with 1-2 inches of snow is bad.
Not sure why they are coming up with 70mph as I can't remember when the last time we have had a 70mph blizzard. Maybe someone else knows. I actually like it except for the fact we have a huge game that night.

Channel 13 had a graphic of 70 mph winds this morning. Not too responsible IMO hyping something like that 5 days out. Des Moines has never even had a 60 mph wind in January or February.
