Agree to disagree- there has not been a single school that was not THRILLED that Chuck left. I would rather we go unproven before we go Chuck. There is a reason he no longer works in football but in WDM.
Football Outsider's F/+ stats don't like Christiensen that much. His Wyoming offenses were consistently ranked 80 or worse. Obviously he did well at Missouri, but that was with much better talent in a system that had been in place for a while already.
Schramm looks better in this measure, with offensive F/+ scores putting his offenses between 35 - 45 (both at Utah and Fresno State).

Christensen was HC at Wyoming and not the OC. And Christensen was with Pinkel for years and years and was the OC under Pinkel during his entire time at Mizzou. Mizzou had a solid offense for years under Christensen. First with Brad Smith at QB and then Chase Daniel at QB.
I really like Schramm but Christensen would be good too IMO.

If that is the case- you offer the salary that Mess collected and then some and you get Tony Alford back here as a Run-Game Coord. (play calling to Sturdy as Pass-Game Coord).
Tony is one of the best recruiters in the country and a great RB coach. Pay HIM
This guy is the highest paid assistant in the entire country. He's not going anywhere unless it's a head coaching gig.

I was using him as an example as a guy who had little big time coaching experience and has blown up since coming to college football.
To make it simple, Austin Flynn could be like Chad Morris for us. Give Austin the RB coach job and get a great OC.
I would share an excerpt from today's MMQB by Peter King. This is a section regarding Chip Kelly's decision to hire Bill Davis as defensive coordinator despite a stint as coordinator in Arizona where “his numbers weren’t great.â€
Said Kelly: “I think people get so caught up in statistics that sometimes it’s baffling to me. You may look at a guy and say, ‘Well, they were in the bottom of the league defensively.’ Well, they had 13 starters out. They should be at the bottom of the league defensively. Is that Billy’s fault? I don’t know what it was, but I don’t look at it that way. I hired [former Oregon offensive coordinator and current Oregon head coach] Mark Helfrich as our offensive coordinator when I was at the University of Oregon. I looked up Mizzou's stats from 1997 - 2008, while Christensen was there. Their average rank for scoring offense and total offense was 45 and 43 (ranged from 6-95, and 5-91). That's pretty solid. The high rankings are no more outliers than are the low rankings, and there was a definite trend towards improvement over time.
Seems like Christensen has more experience than Schramm, but I think either would give us a chance to be successful.
I heard Brent Pease got fired from Florida. He did terribly at Florida, but prior to that he spent 5 years at Boise State as WR Coach, then WR/Asst. Head Coach, finally OC/QB Coach (2006 - 2011, when they were tearing it up). I know a lot of people here hate Boise for some reason, but they were in the Top 10 offenses during that stretch.
Well I tried calling those guys to talk football for 10 minutes, but for some reason they blew me off.
So all I have to look at is numbers. I'm not going to even try to watch any "film" of these guys' offense.Mike Canales of North Texas should be a candidate.

very interesting that Roper was born in Ames, anyone who can make Duke a top offensive team should get more attention then what we are giving him. I have to think (im sure ill get 10 people who disagree) it would be easier to recruit at Iowa State then at Duke.....how many times do we get to say that?
