Pollard Extension

After wading through the sea of interns to secure alcohol it does make sense to order multiple rounds at once. learned that lesson quickly.

This news + the new season ticket sales record makes me think it'll actually happen sooner than later.

JP answered this at length tonight. Basically we have to pay off 5 mil debt for several years for latest projects and SEZ would double that debt. He wouldn't trade upgrade in all those projects for SEZ, but will be done at appropriate time with revenue stream.

After a pair of mulligans (sorry, I couldn't care less what they did after leaving ISU), JP got the coaches for the big 2 sports right. Well deserved contract extension.

I've said since day one, JP is a tremendous AD, person and full fledged Cyclone. There have been multiple times where wweave seen his emotions on how proud he is to be a Cyclone. We will need to keep the $ coming to keep Wisconsm away.

So today we got a starting QB, later start to Tulsa, Pollard extension and broke the season ticket record? Didn't think I'd have this great a day until the Tulsa game, yet here we are!
Plus, how could we NOT give an extension to this guy (I heart WRNL for this pic):

It's significant to me that his two of his best three moves were reacted to as "Who?" and "That's all they've got?". The reaction to Hoiberg was so off base it's hilarious now, especially by Iowa and Creighton fans, but even by ISU fans.

Anybody can shoot for the hot name everyone knows about, finding an ace that nobody else knows about or taking a risk that turns out to be a 110% perfect choice means you are excellent at your job.

I'd say his other big scores are just pumping up ISU interest and ticket sales in general and the non-revenue sports/director's cup standings. He's shown he can excel at that even when the football and basketball programs are not headed in the right direction like they are now.

A highly effective administrator that has done great things for ISU during his tenure. Not to mention is one that seems to 'get' iowa state, as well as is very responsive to the fans. ("Email JP" may be a bit of a joke around here now, but i always find it great that he takes the time to respond to almost every email he does get, something a lot of others in his position would not do)

I've gotten substantive replies (not "cut and paste") from him also. Makes me wonder how much time he wastes answering emails from goofballs like me. Seems to be working for him.

I'll betcha his old extension found the shredder. He's probably extended to 2017.

The official press release states that his contract is now extended through 2019. The new extension is in addition to the previous extension.

Beautiful. 7 years to get the end zone, press box, and Hilton renovations done.

Not as much as you think. That's what he has secretaries and other staff for.

Yep, let's go for it!! Go Cyclones! Go Jamie!

According to the State of Iowa Employee salary DB in 2011.
Barta: 443k
Pollard: 378k
Hopefully JP got a bump.
