ISU is indeed fortunate to retain Jamie's services given his accomplishments. He is the best AD since Gene Smith (now with tOSU). All of his coaching hires have been home runs. I include Greg McDermott in that, since he has proven himself again at Creighton. The Wayne Morgan firing created a transfer outflux that would not subside until being doused by coach Hoiberg's transfer influx.
Two coaches who left within a few years, Gene Chizik and Cael Sanderson, left for millions more elsewhere and won National Championships within 2 years. Did he shoot to high there? I figure there was no down side. Since those guys left for bigger and better things, it just added cache to the coaching vacations left behind. In light of that, ISU is even more fortunate that coach Rhoads is staying put. He could easily have written his own check at any number of the high profile openings that came available in the past year.
