Pollard Calls Out Big 12 Officials

Here's some quotes from Pollard after the game, according to Tommy Birch of the DMR in a series of tweets:

I recognize that the Big 12 does not allow comments to be made on officiating and I recognize there's penalties for that, but our institution's been penalized already."

Pollard: Something's got to be done. I don't know what it is but there needs to be more accountability on what happens in certain situations

Its not the refs. Its the coach he hired and extended for too damn long.
 
And how does he explain everything else that happened during the game?
 
2 huge blown calls today by the refs and that much is FACT. We lost regardless in the 2nd half. However, 2 big calls that were bad had a big impact on the first half, which impacted the game. That is also fact.

Mad fans will just use this as a chance to rip on AD and coach - but what JP is saying is fact on this incident.

It's not this game alone. Kansas, Texas, Kansas State, and now this. At least three of those four games a poor call by the refs had an influence on the outcome.

I don't picture this ending well for JP or Iowa State, but I think his anger is legitimate. Although calling out the rest of the conference won't be helpful next time realignment hits.
 
So what to some of you whiners want our AD to do in THIS case? Just lay there and take it? Is that what we should expect?

I get that we all are mad our team is sucking and the coaching complaints have nothing to do with repeated and clear bad calls against ISU. Nothing.

At least in this game, we can't blame the refs for the outcome, even if we blame them for giving OSU that TD

So then don't complain? That's flawed. If there are clear bad calls, those need to be addressed. At the time of both calls, the game was clearly on the line. No one knows the impact of those calls at that time.

Momentum is huge in this sport - that is FACT.

Do I think ISU wins with accurate calls? I personally do not, but I do think the game is closer. Regardless, the calls were clearly and bad. The outcome does not change that.
 
We lost because we made stupid mistakes and had an ineffective offense.

However, Pollard is exactly right. We have been on the end of too many poor officiating decisions in football AND basketball. About damn time he spoke up to defend the school.
 
The play at half was a terrible overturn. The camera on the one side was not even with the goal, so the view wasn't true. If the call isn't clear, the call on the field should stand. Miller made a great play! I am also confused on what constitutes a reception. Thought the review in on the OSU reception in the first half shouldn't have been a catch.
