We wouldn't be asking for your source but the least you could do is say why he left.
It's a shame if true. He looked like he had a good combination of size and speed. Just needed to get the experience of playing and knowing where to be on the field.

I wasn't given a specific reason, but I think he may have been in a little bit of legal trouble up here.

How does the scholarship situation work when a player leaves the team, (or is kicked off), like this?

While many might not think this is a very big loss, I think it may end up being a big blow for our defense.
Many think that the D-Line was our weakest point last year, others believed it to be the d-backs, yet I believe our weakest position going into next year is the linebackers. Smith, Garrin, Raven, and Schmidgall are all seniors yet none of them are really standout players and all have their physical limitations.
Cameron Bell looks great on paper, but if you look at last years stats you will see that Ferguson had more tackles, etc. in much fewer minutes as a true frosh. That said I think Bell may end up being pretty good.
We definitely need some youth to step up at this position next year, anybody have any predictions on who the next Tim Dobbins, Ace Bowen, etc.

The NCAA limits the number of new signees you can have in any signing period (25), but the scholarship can be given to someone that may have greyshirted or is otherwise already on the team without a scholarship
