14 - 6 = 12?
Even in his 10th senior year he couldn’t make an extra point.Whar Yelk
Bump:Can’t believe the goat Edwin Arceo wasn’t an option
The real story at KU last year was when Arceo kicked off, ran to the the semi full of porta potties on the track, took a deuce, came out 5 minutes later. Started running back to ISU sidelines, past our ISU visiting section, and got cheered. He raised his arm with a big grin, as in thank you.
It was hilarious.
Curious who is voting for Shaggy. He only missed 2 of the biggest kicks in program history in back to back years that would have won us the Big 12 north. He may have single handedly beat Iowa in 2007 but man he shanked a lot of other kicks in big spots. He was a great kid but to me I never felt comfortable with him kicking in a big spot.

Glad to see Mike McKnight was not a choice, I was never so worried about making a PAT than when he was kicking.
Another name the throw out there in the mold of a good 1 year run (less than that really) was Carl Gomez who was mostly a punter then took over most of the place kicking duties during his senior year because of McKnight's issues. 7/8 on FG and 12/13 on XP. Wish Mac had made that switch sooner
Yelk definitely had a leg, just inconsistent at times.I actually struggled between Mevis and Yelk. I recalled Yelk sniffed the NFL was on practice squads. I believe Mevis will be in the same boat this year, perhaps winning the spot with the Jags.
The stats surprised me on how poor Yelk was on FG and longer FG over 40
Holy cow. I voted for Yelk before I saw these numbers. Had no idea he was that bad. Didn't he punt well for us his last couple years? Maybe that is skewing my memories?

Or 2020 at the Big 12 Championship game. Definitely would have made a difference.Makes you wonder what might have been if Mevis was kicker in 2005.

Yelk should have an asterisk by his FG percentage.
