OU to BIG10 Heating up

Just like Neb?

OU goes to big it will end up costing them their dynasty like Neb.
Nah I don't think so. Oklahoma has the proximity to Texas to keep continue drawing those recruits from there unlike Nebraska

Also, we need to see the Big 12 starting to make moves for the next round of rights. How about we try to snag a team or two in the process from them(big 10)

(Mark Silverman is President of BTN and President of Fox Sports)

“Silverman will attempt to build a runway for Oklahoma to seamlessly cross over from whatever 3T platform they choose to have from July 1st, 2022 to June 30th, 2025, onto joining the Big Ten Conference on July 1st 2025 and it’s Big Ten Network. This is the goal.”
This is NOT from any source- this is pure and simply wishing and speculation. Clearly, it is summer! Nothing to see here

I'm sure someone in Stillwater is excited. A big10 invite for OU would mean a big10 invite for OSU. Otherwise, as we've heard in the past, the state will prevent it.

Big 12 is barely in 3rd behind the Big 10 and SEC without even including Tier 3 money. We're in an amazing spot. I would be more worried if I was ACC and that's only because the PAC12 has a monopoly West of the Rockies. We'll be fine I think

Also the only reason we're all concerned is that we're near the bottom of the barrel of teams to get picked up if all he'll breaks loose and the Big12 dissolves. It's definitely gotten better the last 5 years and I feel way better than before but we'll be sweating if anything happens. Just start getting used to the idea of having Tulsa and Wichita St for our rivalry games

TV sets will always matter.. people aren’t gonna stop watching stuff on 65”TV... Amazon and google and Netflix etc will be the new cable. Number of eyes watching will still be the norm for $$..
Of course tv matters, but footprint will become far less important. Therefore the need for huge conferences that sprawl across the us won't matter as much.

Honestly college football needs to get to a setup that's more like professional sports. One league with smaller regional divisions. They are too entrenched in the conference setup, but it would make college football so much better.

I think everyone would love that, so it will likely never happen. Makes way too much sense to ever become reality.

Agree, but it no longer be market based, which is the entire concept of super conferences.

No UNL's dynasty was long gone before they jumped ship.

It had been in decline since 2001, but I always felt it was still salvageable when they were in the Big 12. I don't see them becoming a national power again in the Big 10 when you combine the established blue bloods (Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State) with established solid programs (Wisconsin, Iowa) that have been in the conference for much longer. Nebraska football has lost its identity ever since they jumped ship.

It would be nice. I think the Big 12 has the perfect model right now. Equal sharing, with the ability to individually get rich off your brand via Tier 3. I would think if the NCAA would push equal revenue sharing across the board, giving each team the ability to cash in on their own third tier rights, and create regions, it woukd be perfect. The only teams that would raise hell would be the Northwesterns who are getting rich off Penn State and Ohio State.

Number of eyes actually watching is going to be the change. Rutgers was an attractive candidate because it brought the NYC market. Now teams like us with high engagement will be more attractive. It isn’t about metro areas it is about actual viewers.

So, would this mean that OU would have a OOC game with a Big 10 team each season?

The question is whether the one league would have 30, 60, or 120 teams.
