The Cuban is going to be ok. And 125 gets it too.
The three true freshmen on varsity are going to win a lot of matches for ISU.
Redding is going to be really good when he’s done. And imagine the Cuban in 2 more years with good nutrition, good weight training instead of seriously lifting bricks and chasing chickens and then having 2 more years to still wrestle?!?!?!
Me likey
He’s not a true fresh but throw Julian into that mix and try not to smile at the future. Then throw in Robinson, have mercy.

Redding definitely has some Parker to him. And that’s a very very good thingOnce Kysen decides to open it up and wrestle 7 minutes, he’s going to be dangerous. I see ceiling for him this year being R12, but the potential to be a 4 time AA (with the free year) is definitely there.
Redding will be a guy that will grind out a ton of wins. He seems very tough to score on. Might not have the full arsenal of attacks Kysen has, but he’s got a better gas tank right now and just knows how to win. Also he’s an extremely impressive mat wrestler for a true freshman.
Cam oozes potential. He’s a quicker/more athletic Degen. His length will cause 149 pounders a lot of trouble in the future. Hopefully one (maybe two) years scrapping with degen will help give him that gamer, win at all costs attitude that Jarrett wrestles with.
The Cuban has all the potential in the world. Just needs to stay the course, continue to adapt to life in the US/folkstyle and he’s got NCAA champ potential. This year and really next year are learning years. Once he’s a 23 year old sophomore, he could be scary good.
add on the 2021 class of Knopick, Paniro, Schon, and Greenlee and then the 2022 class is already off to a great start with the 2 Michigan kids. Definitely a time to get excited about the future of Iowa State Wrestling
I’m going to get my sunglassesHe’s not a true fresh but throw Julian into that mix and try not to smile at the future.
Love watching him I think he has a lot of potential. Hard nosed but still very green. He’s not a true fresh but throw Julian into that mix and try not to smile at the future.
This. I feel this. I still feel like Ian, Degen (depending on what looks like when he gets back) and Gremmel should be on the podium. Who knows with Sammy. But a let down for sure compared to expectations. Some of that is out of anyone’s control thoufhI get all the optimism you guys, i share in it. The young guys are truly impressive. But, I can’t help to still be extremely disappointed. Even if the young guys live up to potential, that is still another 2 years before we see it realized.
This was supposed to be the break out year. You have a legit title contender and 5-6 other guys that are AA contenders. Now we still have the one title contender, but maybe 2 other AA contenders. Just feels like a gigantic let down.

We have no idea what type of product we are going to get in Colbray and Degen. Parker looks like he will AA along with a finals contender in Carr. That’s 3-4 AA’s this year if all the other young guys don’t produce. Not including Gremmel because hwt is stacked, I see him as a R12 this year.I get all the optimism you guys, i share in it. He seems like a man on a mission. I would buy stock in Gannon AA’ingI agree that HWT has a lot of good wrestlers, but Gremmel is ranked 5th. Anything less than AA will be at least mildly disappointing.
No Carr? The 2 I have are Parker and Gremmel.
I have really liked the last 2 weeks from Broderson, but need to see him beat someone in that top 10 range before I put him as an AA contender.
Degen and Colbray I would have definitely had pre season, but it is February and they haven’t even taken the mat. Can’t expect anything from them at this point.
Bumped up to 197. Started the season injured. He's wrestled a couple of the extra matches to ease him in, but I don't know if he's been trying to challenge Bastida at all. I wonder if he's still a bit banged up.I must have missed it - where is Coleman ?
Won’t even make the blood round. He sucks. No Carr?
It’ll all depend how things fall on the backside. Hillger and Kerkvliet are ranked behind him right now but 2 guys I could see beating Gremmel. Things will have to go his way to get a good matchup in R12.I agree that HWT has a lot of good wrestlers, but Gremmel is ranked 5th. Anything less than AA will be at least mildly disappointing.
Nope, not gonna place. SMH - he’s a given as a finalist contender, if you follow the thread. I’m talking about other AA contenders. No Carr?
