Then use the block feature. Unfortunately, that's not a thing in real life.
actually, when it comes to celebrities voicing opinions you don't like, it sort of is.

And he doesn't have to listen to Meryl Streep. But she has as much of a right to say what she believes as he does.
At risk of venturing into the forbidden political zone, I'm just curious what part of what Wahlberg said in the above quote you don't agree with?
I'm not going to sit here and try and defend some other person's actions and certainly not hate crimes, but you're bringing up things that happened in his youth. Like, nearly 30 years ago for his most recent crime. You're reaching pathetically hard on this one. I am curious, though, about your take on Lena Dunham. Are you cool with her or no?
As a child, I said and did hateful things. It only defines me to those that live in the past. No clue if Wahlberg or any of the funky bunch are racist ******* bigots but nobody except maybe the Menendez brothers should be defined by actions as a youth. Except of course for the bad stuff. Using the "n" word as a kid, picking on kids that were different, etc... sadly part of growing up and hopefully learning from.

He was arrested and convicted for assaulting the crap out of minorities because they were minorities. Rather than try to make reparations, or even apologize, he sought to have his record pardoned.
I don't have any big thing about Mark Wahlberg - I think he's a mostly-crappy actor (who managed to almost bring down even "Boogie Nights" by only being able to make that one face) who seems to be a crappier person.

My point still stands about Starship Troopers.
Not if you're on social media or look at news websites, or the internet in general. It's everywhere.
And you have some sort of Ludivico technique situation going on?Not if you're on social media or look at news websites, or the internet in general. It's everywhere.
If memory serves, Marky Mark beat up a minority who helped hide him when he was running from the cops. Like, hide me, then after the cops when by he punched the guy the eye permanently blinding him.

Because short of that, I find it pretty hard to believe a person wouldn't be able to ignore the voices of celebrities if they desired.
I didn't comment on the post. I commented on someone who has been a known racist for years and is not exactly defending minorities now being "my favorite person in Hollywood." That phrase by Stewo was also not a rumination on Marky Mark's comment, but was rather making the bold statement that someone who has been arrested for hate crimes is his "favorite person in Hollywood," and one to adulate and revere. I might keep that one under my hat, personally.
See above response to Clonefan32 - but dude, we should totally forgive all of the outstanding Nazi war criminals because I'm sure that they totally changed their ways from a life that was, at its base, involving blatant hatred of minorities because it was in the 1940s. That's the logic, right? That sort of racist, systemic thinking that was ingrained in them from childhood TOTALLY is going to change.
I think Lena Dunham's one tweet was disgusting. Beyond that, I've never seen any of her shows or anything, so I don't particularly care about her as a person - but no, I wouldn't hold her up as an idol for my kids. I've never quoted her as a revered entity, nor have I ever called her my "favorite person in Hollywood." I certainly am not going to quote a dude who tried to curb-stomp two Asians saying crap about how we shouldn't listen to Hollywood actors, THEREBY LISTENING TO HOLLYWOOD ACTORS.

Yeah, you only like boogie nights for the last 5-10 seconds Angie. Don't need to pretend.
You're missing the point in your attempt at belittlement. No matter what news organization you follow, there are stories about what celeb said what on stage X about subject X. It truly doesn't matter which news outlet you choose to follow. It's there. To top it off, people on social media are constantly bringing it up.
It might have something to do with the fact that the movie was directed by a man who didn't even read the source material, and created another formulaic action movie that looks just like all of his other movies. Is it entertaining? Sure. It isn't Oscars material though.

You wanted to discuss a show you didn't watch that handed out awards to movies you didn't watch? Alrighty then.
I actually have a really hard time keeping a straight face at that part. Because the prosthesis is so obvious, and he's STILL MAKING THAT ONE FACE while gazing at it. The one somewhere between "I smelled something bad" and "I'm having to think way too hard about this."
