An unscientific way to easily verify one-hit wonders would be to go to songmeanings.com and check the comments on the one-hit wonder relatively to the band's other songs.
For example, to pick on Angie's:
Mungo Jerry, "In The Summertime" - All 20 comments for Mungo Jerry are on "In The Summertime". Definite One-Hit Wonder
Digital Underground, "The Humpty Dance" - 9 comments, next largest, 1 comment. One-Hit Wonder
Toadies, "Possum Kingdom" - 196 comments for Possum Kingdom compared to 85 for Tyler. Needs further analysis
