On That Note: Hello, Baaaaay-beee!

Pink Floyd

Dogs

Who was breaking away from the pack?
Who was only a stranger at home?
Who was ground down in the end?
Who was found dead on the phone?
Who was dragged down by the stone?

Who was dragged down by the stone?

Hey You

Hey you
Out there on your own
Sitting naked by the phone
Would you touch me?

Rod Stewart,

You Wear It Well

I had nothing to do on this hot afternoon
But to settle down and write you a line
I've been meaning to phone you, but from Minnesota
Hell, it's been a very long time

Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)

Stay away from my window
Stay away from my back door too
Disconnect the telephone line
Relax baby and draw that blind

An under appreciated Beatles composition. 1. Great John Lennon chords overwhelmed by the rest of the production. 2. The lounge lizard act by John and Paul in the middle. Probably how they used to cut up on stage in the early days. In my opinion, this is the best version of the song--better than the B side of let it be. Brian Jones on sax.

SRV: Texas Flood

Well there's floodin' down in Texas
All of the telephone lines are down
Well there's floodin' down in Texas
All of the telephone lines are down
And I've been tryin' to call my baby
Lord and I can't get a single sound

I've long since retired, my son's moved away
I called him up just the other day
I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind"
He said, "I'd love to, Dad, if I can find the time
You see my new job's a hassle and the kid's got the flu
But it's sure nice talking to you, Dad
It's been sure nice talking to you"
And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me
He'd grown up just like me
My boy was just like me
