On That Note: Father Time

Several people have recorded this song but no one does it better than the Oak Ridge Boys

"Daddy, how does this thing fly?"

"Her daddy was in the back yard rollin up a garden hose"

"I am very proud of my daddy's name. Although his kind of music and mine ain't exactly the same"

Almost forgot about this classic

A little light hearted song about a dad telling a boy what he'll be doing while waiting for his daughter to come back home from a date
*edit: I guess someone already posted this one and I missed it...

Sometimes moms and dads fall out of love.

Another case of a song with a dad mention that also hits home on a personal level.

Yeah...sorry about the 40 country songs last night! I woke up today with a whole bunch of notifications that @Cydar "liked" my post...
Counted them - 9 total, most with 5 songs on them. Yikes! I guess I was on a roll...
Next week skip the country songs and just do Western songs.

Remember riding with my Dad in our tractor and listening to the Statler Brothers 8 track that had this song on it. He loved to sing along.

I don't think one of my favorite songs has been posted yet; one of my all-time favorite songs and bands The House of the Rising Sun:

"My father was a gambling man,
Down in New Orleans."

Another favorite Tobacco Road:

"I was born in a bunk
Mama died and my daddy got drunk
Left me here to die alone
In the middle of Tobacco Road"
