On That Note: Father Time

I've been watching you dad, ain't that cool?

But I was king of the ocean
When Daddy let me drive

Dad, this could be the best day of my life

I met the man I call my dad when I was five years old

I love you, daddy goodnight

It's just a daddy thing
And, hey, believe me, it works

He was only ten years old when his daddy died in prison

Kind of a cheat - never actually says dad, father, daddy...but it's a daughter singing about her father

And I said "Daddy, I'm so afraid

Songs about daddies are a country music staple. Each time I look up the video for one I'm reminded of at least three more. :D

Go from a hard-working dad to being Mr. Mom
(side note: did you know that pampers melt in a maytag dryer?)

Daddy took me by the hand

But when tough little boys grow up to be dads
They turn into big babies again.

I knew the love of a father runs deep

I came to see her daddy for sit down man to man

And I came to blows with my old man

See it used to be my daddy's

Well the well went dry and the cow did too
And daddy didn't know what to do

Daddy always told me far back as I recall
Son, you're part of somethin',
You represent us all

And say, 'He was a father, brother, neighbor and a friend
He was a good man'

Daddy won a radio...

What they don't know is my dad and me
We drove her out to Tennessee

Her Daddy had a heart like a nine-pound hammer

So she sits and she waits with her mother and dad

She takes my hand; says: "Daddy don't be sad,
'cause I know Mama's watching now."
