In general soccer games tend to run 2 hours to 2 hours and 15 minutes for 90 minutes of game time. Compared to 3 or 3 and a half hours for 60 minutes of football. Yeah sure there are breaks in the action, but the focus stays on the field rather than breaking for commercials constantly, it's not even comparable. It's not like soccer doesn't have it's own stoppages. Free kicks take like 2-3 minutes to set up. Corners can take a minute. Every foul is a stoppage. Less than American football, for sure, but there are still a ton of breaks in the actual play.
