Ohio State

I can see Bama getting in with one loss. They have been dominant all year. And definitely one of the top 4 teams. No problem with that. Ohio State has sucked all year. Eked out a one point win over PSU. Killed by a mediocre unranked Purdue team. And has a very weak SOS.

While I agree that neither Ohio State or Oklahoma have looked very good, Sagarin says that Alabama's SoS is the worst in the top 10 (with UCF being the obvious exception). Really, if you look at Alabama's schedule it's definitely meh with their best win being over LSU (another team with a meh schedule). Not to take anything away from Alabama (they are a great team) but if they lose to Georgia their argument for being in would also be a little weak.

Alabama averages almost 49 points per game. They give up 13 points per game. They have dominated. They are defending National Champs. Losing to #5 Georgia would give them one loss. They do not have a weak case even with a loss.

If Ohio State lured Campbell away, I would despise Ohio State as much as I have despised them since they stole Earl Bruce from our sidelines.

EFF them AND the Squakeyes!

Lol I didn't mean all ISU fans, just that specific one given he only became a fan because Campbell came to ISU

Yeah, but I would expect them to have better stats simply because of the competition they've faced. LSU took another loss last night which means their best win is now against a 3 loss LSU (who also lost to Florida and TAMU). Alabama's OOC schedule includes such greats as Louisville (2-10), Arkansas State (Sun Belt), University of Louisiana Lafayette (Sun Belt), and The Citadel (FCS). I'm not saying you can't make a good case for Alabama, their loss would be against a top 10 team, but that loss would be against the only top 10 team they've played. The SEC west looks pretty bad and they didn't schedule anyone tough in their OOC. You'd basically be telling Alabama at that point that it's ok to basically play no one and lose their only really tough game because they'll be in no matter what. I think we should at least have a discussion.

I have been an OSU fan since my first breath....family requirement. Toledo fan since my son signed, ISU fan since CMC became coach. Right now and I believe always will be a Buckeye, Cyclone, Rocket hybrid fan.

You put these in alphabetical order, right?

Same as this:
"Right now and I believe always will be a Iowa State, Ohio State, Toledo hybrid fan."

This week will be interesting. OU has an advantage in the higher rated opponent next week. So if tOSU doesn't jump OU this week, I don't see how they would after next week.

tOSU jumped over a team that had one loss all season to the #5 team on the road by a point because of a bad call. That tOSU team had a bad home loss to a 5-7 team. Turns out these were the best two teams in college football, but there's no rational reason TCU should have been behind Ohio State that year, they clearly had the better resume, they probably should have been ranked #2 instead of #6.

This small biased committee exists to help the Big Ten and SEC. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the BCS ranking, just the two team playoff bracket.

Never forget why this "committee" is a thing:

OU has a bigger brand name than TCU but the Big 12 has always had the least representation on this committee. I was pretty shocked to see how much they have respected ISU in the ranking this year.

Key thing to watch is where Northwestern is moved to by only beating a horrible Illinois team by 8 points.

There's no reason NW should be ranked ahead of ISU for example, it's a trash rating if NW is somehow more than 2-3 spots ahead of ISU with a similar or worse resume. Getting them up to that #15 or #14 range would be an obvious sign of what is coming. They aren't as good as Texas but they need to paint them as a similar opponent to jump OU.

Northwestern will jump to #15 so when OSU **** pounds them, the committee can talk about how fantastic they’ve performed these last two weeks beating two top 15 teams and jump them over OU, even though OU would have beaten two top 15 teams in a row as well, it they beat Texas.

It doesn’t have to make sense, it just has to have any form of “reason” for them to do it.

Where is CMC from? Big 10 land! Just saying!

Oklahoma beat TCU at Norman. 52-27. Ohio State beat TCU at AT&T Stadium. 40-28.

Wider margin of victory by Oklahoma and gave up one less point. 25 point margin of victory versus 12 points and gave up one less point. Sorry Rick Neuheisl. But the Buckeyes do not have the better team. What a Douche.

If the CFP leapfrogs Ohio State over Oklahoma it is complete BS.
Yes, of course it should come down to the 1 point margin of victory difference in two early season games against a common team that was a pretty bad team. Both won convincingly.

That specific one would be Tolfbfan and I guarantee that the Cyclones are better off since I have become a hybrid fan.

I for one have found your input regarding this staff to be invaluable and very much appreciated. Surely you wanted CMC to stay at Toledo, and it takes a big man to be willing to understand that Coach saw ISU as an opportunity at a Power 5 school that he could not pass up. Iowa State has never been viewed as a final destination job either and so I hope most of us will be as supportive and understanding if the day comes that he does move on to that perceived "better" job. Like you, I will just be thankful that he gave us the years that he did. I'm sure your son is a better man for having played for CMC.
