Shady McCoy is being accused of whoopin' up on his girlfriend.
CorrectSo that means that they give up their 3rd round pick in next year's draft right?
Today was the deadline to get a Franchise Tag guy signed to a longer deal. But didn't happen:
The league is handling this so stupidly. They never should have said anything from the beginning. Just ignore it. They've only made it worse.http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/24143418/nfl-nflpa-agree-freeze-national-anthem-rules
The NFL's new anthem policy almost made it to the first preseason game.

The Packers financials that were released show the league is doing just fine, monetarily, despite what people would have you believe. This controversy is only hurting them to the degree that they let it. They never should have responded.
agreed. The league needs to operate from the mindset of knowing that this problem will not completely go away. Nothing they can do can make that happen. So, what they need to be looking for is a solution where they're comfortable with the amount of heat they'll take, because they'll take heat no matter what. They're in a no-win position, too. The NFLPA has all the bargaining power here. Why should they help ownership out without getting a significant concession in return?

I wonder if the simplest thing for them to do would be to wash their hands of the whole damn mess and say that it's a team policy. Give them their own length of rope and let each owner decide what their team policy is.
It would be simple, but it's not going to stop the furor. All that would do is make both sides mad.
That said, I could definitely see that as the route they go, just because the NFL is still trying to have its cake and eat it too, on this issue.
