Yeah, who knows to what degree they'll enforce it. I think it's going to be a mess.Yeah, I don't know how that's gonna go. Unless it's just a PR move by the league so they can claim that they give a **** about player safety and they don't plan on actually calling it, I don't see how this gets enforced consistently.
How much would each CFer need to donate to own the team?https://www.nytimes.com/2018/03/27/sports/nfl-panthers-sale.html
Sounds like the Panthers are going to sell for something like $2.5 billion. I remember back when they first went up for sale, and Forbes came out and said that $2.3 billion was roughly what they were worth. A bunch of the talking heads went bonkers saying there was no way they'd get that much. This was, of course, during the midst of this season's lower ratings and protests.
Just goes to show that even with baggage, owning an NFL team is still basically a license to print money.
If the 500 or so people who are currently logged on were to simply kick in $5 million each, we'd have it. I'd be glad to hold onto the money for everyone. How much would each CFer need to donate to own the team?

I agree. It'll be a slippery slope if they do try to enforce it. With the game moving as fast as it does, how can a ref possibly judge intent?

Over rated *clap clap clapclapclap*Long way to go before next season, but as of today the NFC would go something like:
East - Eagles
West - Rams
North - Vikes
South - Falcons
Wild Cards - Saints, Cowboys
We'll see what happens with the draft, and with Odell Beckham Jr. If the Giants really are going to move him then a trade to the right NFC team would change the landscape quite a bit.

You have to give Belichick credit. When he feels your trade value outweighs your team value you are gone. That's one reason that team can compete. He just keeps stockpiling picks to use to fill the holes in his roster. Whether by draft or trade. He's made some nice free agent acquisitions as well. Players will go there for less because they know they have a great opportunity to get that Super Bowl ring.http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/04/03/report-gronk-trade-is-coming/
Pats moving on from Gronk? I guess I'd want to hear it from a more reliable source but there's been a fair amount of smoke around this the last few days.
It would fit Belichick's MO for moving on from players a year early. If he could finagle a first rounder or something comparable that would be a win in his book. The Pats have shown time and again the ability to roll up big offensive numbers with or without Gronk, and he might be done in a year or two anyway.

Every once in a while in this business, the time comes to get a stick and scrape from feces from the bottom of the Foot-Joys. It’s not a pleasant task, but it has to be done, lest the feces get tracked all over the place.
We posted an item earlier today regarding a report from WEEI that the Patriots will be trading tight end Rob Gronkowski in the coming weeks. The report, which was being picked up by other websites, appeared in a single tweet that had no equivocation of any kind. It was clear, it was plain, and it was getting noticed.
And it was all some sort of time-delayed April Fool’s Day gag, apparently.
...
I told Curtis I’m not happy about any of this. Needless to say, nothing WEEI ever reports again will be taken seriously in this space. It’s hard enough to keep people up to date on everything that’s happening in the NFL without people throwing gratuitous and unfunny hurdles in our path.
