It's all just speculation for now, but I think all of these guys could potentially be available either via free agency or trade:

Eli Manning
Case Keenum
Teddy Bridgewater
Sam Bradford
Alex Smith
Kirk Cousins
Jay Cutler (probably back off to retirement)
Josh McCown
Tyrod Taylor
Blake Bortles (let's see what happens in the playoffs)
Andy Dalton or AJ McCarron (less likely now with Marvin Lewis coming back, but you never know)
Jacoby Brissett (new coaching staff in Indy. Brissett might not fit the new guy's system but he's shown enough that he could still maybe be worth a mid round draft pick to the right team.)

Plus whoever comes out in the draft - Josh Allen, probably Rosen and Darnold, Mayfield, and a couple others who will shoot up the boards as we get closer to the draft.

Like you said, the Steelers could be in the market too if Roethlisberger follows through on his retirement threat.

See, based on that list, I think the odds of the Vikings being able to sign both Keenum and Bridgewater are fairly decent. Teddy is highly unlikely to get any kind of offer to be the starter anywhere. And Keenum is definitely in the 2nd tier of QBs that will likely be available.

I'd put him behind Eli, Cousins, and Tyrod Taylor for sure. And it's probably a wash between him and Alex Smith and Andy Dalton. Someone's going to take a flyer on Jacoby Brissett as well, who I think has shown that he can be a good QB.

Basically, after the top tier is gone, he's not likely to be faced with a better position to succeed than with Minnesota.

Big QB field in the draft too. Between now and May some of these names will drop and some will rise up, but as of right now there are five QBS who could go in the first round. Rosen, Darnold, Allen, Mayfield and Rudolph are the first tier. We'll see what happens with guys like Luke Falk and Lamar Jackson. And of course there'll be some kid from Podunk U with a big arm who'll shoot up the boards in the next few months.

The Jets GM has already said that they might try to move up from six to get their guy if they need to. I think the Colts at third overall are going to take a lot of calls about that pick.

At the beginning of the season there is no doubt that Keenum would be the second tier or even in the non-starter category.
The jury is still out for many, but we'll see what he does in the post season. If he takes the Vikes to the SB, I'd take him over any of the QBs listed.

wow. They were reporting last night that they were close to an extension. He'll get some looks at other jobs.

I thought they were on record twice in the last week saying they were keeping him.

I think that's the right move for the Titans. It's not all on Mularkey but Mariota is not where he should be at this stage in his career. Mariota has to stay healthy but they could be so much better at getting the most out of his skillset.

What's interesting to me as a Colts fan is that presumably Josh McDaniels will now be a target for the Titans. Last week it was starting to look like he had a handshake deal with the Colts (similar to the Niners with Kyle Shanahan last year), but with the Tennessee job opening up maybe that's a more attractive job with an opportunity to work with a former Pats front office guy and a dynamic young QB.

Todd Haley is not coming back as OC in Pittsburgh
That should not be a surprise to anyone. Been coming a long time. He and Big Ben have a past and after the recent bar fight, the writing was on the wall

Good for them. Screw Roethlisberger.

Jacksonville is riding high this week. They reek of a team that's just happy to be here. I think the Pats are going to cruise into the Super Bowl.
Yeah, I fear that will be the case. They just talk so much smack. It's sort of like "Do you even understand what you're up against?" I don't like the Patriots even a little, but my goodness you have to respect what they've been able to accomplish. Their consistency is one of the most impressive sports accomplishments most of us will ever see. You don't take that lightly.

The only thing that gives me hope is Tom Coughlin. He's not taking the Patriots lightly, I guarantee it. I just wonder how much influence he has.

Plenty Monday through Friday, but he can't be on the sidelines on game day. It's amazing to me how the Jags just benefited from an opponent underestimating them and looking past them and yet here they are yapping about the Super Bowl already. Meanwhile there goes New England with their goddamn "We're on to (fill-in-the-blank)" mantra again. I hate the Pats but I have to admit their focus on what's immediately at hand every single week is incredible.

My assumption is we'll see the Jags team this week that we expected to see last week.
