This was hard to watch. Less talented US teams still had that intensity and work rate and got better results in the 90s, 2000s, 2010s because they had that spirit and self belief that good teams have. This team didn’t tonight. Sad. There was little desire to push forward with through balls and overlapping runs. In general, they were just listless and didn’t try to create chances, and were more content to possess the ball in the back. Just struggled.
Just atrocious going into the window that was supposed to define USMNT soccer.
Side note, my daughter gets to walk the players out for their introductions at the Gold Cup QF in Minneapolis, which should be kind of cool!

That will be the test to see if this is an overreaction to a meaningless friendly or if there’s something there.
It’s going to be the same team. Which is not very good and far from our best, so don’t expect anything. The European league seasons just ended, that’s just how it goes. Guys need rest. I’d be pissed if Pulisic got injured in the Gold Cup which are also meaningless friendlies imo.
I thought it was just Pulisic that was missing the Gold Cup. If it’s the same team otherwise, I guess it’s time to fade the USMNT on some wagers then.
