So bad news, Deandre Yedlin seems to have hurt his knee, but he didn't tear his ACL but did tear a couple other ligaments

Good News, Tim Weah started with PSG this weekend and caught a keeper sleeping to score a goal. The Hype train has officially left the station folks!

Weah came on as a sub in that game and to be fair, Cavani and Mbappe were not available for PSG this weekend. So it may be difficult for Weah to break through there once their team is fully assembled.

Yep, I didn't know, there was a report that he was going to play 90 minutes but didn't. Still scored however and ended up on the front page of the L'Equipe, a popular French paper. (or maybe ran by PSG I don't know)

Word is that Geoff Cameron is leaving Stoke City for Werder Bremen.

It looks like Claudio Reyna's kid is headed across the Atlantic to Dortmund and he hasn't even turned 16 yet.

It really does seem that more and more US teenagers are finding their way over to Europe. The biggest obstacle is that most kids can't make the jump until they are 18 unless they have a familial connection that allows them obtain a European passport.

While I am happy for Gio Reyna, god are the Never MLSers annoying AF on twitter over this because he's heading for Europe over staying with NYCFC. (Claudio's even the club director for NYCFC)

It's pretty cool though because he's 15 years old playing u17 constantly for NYCFC in the DA and national team.

He already has an Adidas endorsement deal too, was featured in an ad that kinda alluded to the fact that we didn't qualify

Dortmund does surprise me slightly though given that NYC is a part of the Manchester City Group in general, given that he's using a Portugese passport, maybe the looming Brexit may have something to do with it?

Weah did actually start this weekend for PSG. There's a Ligue 2 club that would like to have him on as a loan but Tuchel wants him in the rotation and PSG wants to extend his contract past 2020

I love that a lot of America forwards are getting coaching in the Bundesliga, i still think we need to find some good defenders.

Klinsmann had a big effect on this age group that is all leaving for Europe. A big part of why Klinsmann was fired.

But it is necessary, I think. If there was one thing I agreed with Klinsmann on, it was how our development in the states was not up to par with the rest of the world. And until it is, we need our best players playing along side the worlds best to truly advance and get better.

I thought it was a good thing they're going to good leagues to play? Wasn't the insistence on bringing our stars back home to MLS the biggest contributing factor to why we suck now?

Oh ya totally. Klinsmann never should have been sacked. That’s what we need I hope it’s his legacy.

I think we have some in the pipeline. CCV at Spurs, Robinson at Everton (loaned out), Miazga at Chelsea (loaned out), Ream at Fulham. Yedlin at Newcastle isn't a world beater but is still a regular starter when healthy.

Midfield is the biggest need IMO. McKennie at Schalke is a good start but he cant do it alone. Pulisic could become a CAM in the future but for now I'd consider him a winger. A front 3 of Sargent, Weah, and Pulisic is an exciting prospect full of potential.

Yeah I'm not sure about this......what's your reasoning?

Because he was implanting that European mindset in to the lower age groups, putting good coaches in place for the youth teams, and trying to implement a more European system throughout the entire setup. He had some poor results and some of his guys didn’t pan out but wtf look at us now!

I immediately noticed an huge increase in the quality of ball-handling from our national team after JK took over. Apparently he just doesn't know how to handle personalities. It would be nice if he could be a technical director, but not coach the team? I'm sure his ego would never allow that though.

Idk. I think a change was needed. But I will always respect him for having an understanding/idea of what he wanted for this country to get to regular contention, sticking to his guns and not wavering from it. It's too bad he rubbed too many people the wrong way/couldn't rally his players around him, Because, I do think he was correct in his thinking.

Talking with some people in the soccer world over that deadspin article last night, and @Gunnerclone is 100% correct in that all these young guys in Europe are a product of Klinsmann. JK's kid who is American as American gets, is playing in the BL and has a chance at legit playing time. There are allot more too, those are just the top level guys.

Arena and Gulati were hell bent on making the MLS the "feeder" program for the USMNT, to the point where they were going to shun the guys in Europe, or try and put out the idea that only "True Americans" play hard for the NT. Which is total BS. They brought back Altadore and Bradley and convinced Besler to stay in MLS because they would always be promised a spot on the NT, and all of their games struggled.

The Jordan Morris and Kelyn Acosta's and Andrew Carletons of the world are getting passed up on the National Team scale because they stayed home. This is where I remind everyone that Jordan Morris didn't go to Germany to play for Werder because him and his girlfriend just got a new puppy. Now he is an after thought on the team, and is even losing favor with the Seattle F-ing Sounders instead of running past fullbacks in the BL.

College Soccer is the reason that the US struggles on a National Scale, but our National Team prioritizing the MLS dollars over actual development is a close second. Anyway, Its fun to watch our guys in Europe playing against some of the best in the World, but because of total and complete moronic management from the top , we had a lost World Cup Summer, but a new generation of players are now motivated to make the US a global power in Soccer, and that mostly means doing it overseas.

The reason he "lost" the players, is because he was going against what some of them were promised by Gulati and the brass with US Soccer, that if you come back to MLS, you will be on the front page of every promo and guaranteed a spot. JK, who was horrible with tactics (but so is Didier Deschamps) I admit, but he was willing to push boundaries and say, hey if XYZ player is better, he is going to play, and US Soccer didn't like that, because it didn't fit into their balance sheet.

The sad thing is I think JK would have been great in the new general manager role. Recruiting dual nationals, pushing young guys and old guys to be their best.
