21-20 ISU.

ISU executes a final 2-minute drive for a TD after converting 2 4th downs. Richardson takes it in himself.

UNI gets the ball back with 30s left, miraculously gets within field goal range but misses a 45 yarder wide left as the clock expires.

i've lived through this ...... Steele Jantz?

I think ISU has about 50/50 chance of winning this one, which is kind of sad, but I have little confidence in the team being prepared for Week 1 based on the past few seasons. Since I'm an ISU fan, I'll give them the edge in this one.

31-28 Cyclones

I know the past few years have been bad, but this is not a great UNI team coming in. ISU needs to get back to the mentality that they can destroy teams like this. IF not, CPR should not be on the sidelines for the Sept 12th game.

As others have said, until this team proves me wrong I need to stay away from the Kool-Aid. I think ISU wins, but it will be close. 20-17 ISU.

This year I have avoided the gears and pulleys of the cyclone spin machine before football Season starts. This will be a tight game early I feel but we will win by 14-17 points when it's all said and done. So where's the kool-aid, I'm thirsty!

I think UNI's defense is better than we want to admit, and their secondary will be strong. If think we'll either need to pass protect very well or be able to run the football effectively to generate any significant offense. I'm unsold at this point on either of those happening.

I want to believe that the defense will be significantly improved. I consider the DL to be much better than last year, and the LBs slightly improved. The secondary should be slightly better, given that the only new starter is a Sr JUCO. But until I see it, I'm not banking on it.

I'd give ISU a slight edge in another close, low scoring game. Possibly with turnovers deciding the game. Something like 23-17 ISU.

Both the offensive and defensive units do their job, ISU rolls 31 - 10.
I'll drink the Kool Aid while I have it.

I want to say something like
47 to 20 ISU. Offense finally gels after 10 years, and defense holds their own.

I'm scared it'll end up being
37 - 26 UNI. Offense stalls out, defense gives it up at will

I really suspect it'll be
33 - 27 ISU. Offense is sloppy and defense is porous, but both improve in the second half.

This is tough to judge because so much is new.
Both schools have graduated their best RB.
I understand UNI to be strong on defense - especially pass protection, so I don't see a lot of receiving yards for Cy.
If no RB for ISU steps up and does some damage, it will be a long night for the Cyclones.

The RBs for UNI, I think, are pretty strong, but not quite as strong as 2 years ago.

UNI has a new OC with a whole new system. And the QB race wasn't settled last I saw. If the starting QB doesn't run the system well and connect with receivers, it will be a long night for the Panthers with the defense on the field a lot.

If the ISU O-line can overwhelm the UNI D-line, ISU can win. But I don't see a lot of confidence out of ISU fans about the O-line.

UNI 24
ISU 14

But, as I said, so much is new this year for both teams, nothing would surprise me.

I think ISU wins by 14+. David Johnson was the the x-factor and he's gone.

Farley likes big backs.

All those guys are under 6 feet and around 200 lbs. David Johnson was like 6'2" 230lbs. Thats not even comparable.

Show me where I compared them to David Johnson. And they are big compared to the 175 pounders we often put on the field. The fullback pictured above goes 6-3 224. Our linebackers will likely find these dudes mean cats to clean up after.
