There is no reason why ISU should come out complacent for this game or any less intensity than UNI. The season won't be a success with a win here but will be a dud with a loss.

Agree. There is zero reason why this team shouldn't be fired up for this game after losing 2 years in a row to fcs opponents.
Iowa St may lose, but it shouldn't be because uni wanted it more.

Not exactly sure.
Not a typical UNI team. Very green on Oline. 3 new starters and a couple have the same amount of Fb experience that Stevie Johnson had when he played. They are hyping their defense. Supposed to have a strong set of dbacks, but I take our wideouts.

24-14. I see offense as being the weak link for both. Farley wants this game and I think he is going to try to slow it down with the run. If they try to go high octane on us, we have had the likes of Baylor, okie state, okie, etc and will be ready.

If you just go by talent, then I think ISU wins by 2 TDs.

However, because of coaching, it will be tight. UNI will play MUCH smarter and more fundamental football than we will, just like always, and that will keep it close.

But it shouldn't be.

Like the year we beat them 27-10? Oh wait, better ignore that one, it doesn't fit your agenda.

I think the talent difference between the teams is WAY overblown most years, unless I've forgotten all the Iowa State players playing in the NFL right now. I honestly believe they had better players when we lost to them 2 years ago. The best player in that game BY FAR was David Johnson and their O-line was significantly better than ours too.

For the record, I don't think the talent gap between UNI and Iowa is usually that great either, people just can't fathom UNI having talent since they are an FCS school, never mind the fact that they usually have several starters that transferred in from big FBS schools every year.

This notion that this is a high risk low reward game is such a pathetic loser mentality. If I've learned anything from this site, its that, at the end of the year, no one cares who you beat and who you lost to, the only thing that matters is the W-L record. I'd be fine if we played UNI every year. If we are too mentally fragile to handle playing them, then what are we going to do when we play Big 12 teams? If we lose, so be it, its better than running away scared.

ISU - 34
UNI - 21

I think ISU will come out fired up, get punched in the mouth early, and then fold back into the same loser team that quit last year. And it's not like CPR has had the team not excited and not ready to play before when there is a ton on the line. It's happened quite a bit.

Close game. UNI's offense is a total mystery and they want to go fast and snap the ball every 12 seconds. It will be Kollmorgen because Bailey tweaked a hamstring. UNI's defense will be as solid as always.

I'll take ISU because this game is so important for the future of CPR.

ISU 24
UNI 19

This is actually an extremely positive outlook on the game coming from you.

I would be surprised if we don't beat UNI by at least 20 points. Offense struggles and then erupts for big yardage and the defense is up to the pre-season hype. JUCO players will shine on the defensive side of the ball. 41-17 Iowa State.
