To the contrary, I don't believe it is easy, but I think it is worth it.
Fire a 20 game winning coach to try and get a 30 game winning coach four seasons into his tenure? Yeah, no thanks.

Owens: 77% shooter went 4/4 so he was a point above average. The heart and effort displayed in yesterday's game was encouraging and hopefully will continue going forward.
However, all other shortcomings already over-discussed ad nauseam aside, (i.e. freshman inexperience, lack of basketball IQ, poor defense, poor shot selection, etc, etc, etc.), yesterday we left NINE free points on the table. Tech hit 100% of theirs.
Final score could have been
82 Cyclones - 80 TT.
Tom Davis HC TOE. Great guy. Smart. Hard working. Players worked hard for him. Never seemed to miss a dance. He was fired because he rarely finished in the top 20 or made the sweet sixteen. Being limited to kinda good is not always acceptable. Have they done better since him? Probably not.
Owens: 77% shooter went 4/4 so he was a point above average.
Mooney is a 75% shooter and went 2/2 so he was where you'd expect.
Culver is a 70% shooter and went 3/3 so he was a point above average.
Moretti is automatic from the line and went 4/4 so he was right where you'd expect.
Jacobson is a 67% shooter and went 3/4 so he was where you'd expect.
Weiler-Babb is a 75% shooter and went 3/5 so he left a point on the board.
Wigginton is a 71% shooter and went 9/14 so he left a point on the board.
Shayok is an 87% shooter and went 1/2 so he left a point on the board.
THT is a 63% shooter and went 1/1 so he was where you'd expect.
Tech ended up +2 from the stripe. We ended up -3. Much more likely final still makes it 78-76 Tech.
The last few games prohm has been thowing out new line ups. Even before whatever went down with lard and Shayok. And talleys minutes finally jumped from like 2 min to 10. He started putting Talley in with lard when the starting line has its regular slow start.Kind of figured that's what he was referring to, but wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. I didn't know if something happened in the last 25 minutes.
I don't think you send Cam packing, I think you stop going out of your way to help him - I think CSP has done all he can. Now it is up to Cam either he stays out of trouble and stays eligible or he doesn't and then you move on.
Its a history major and science minor, but what I said still stands. TT was grinding us out, we go down and throw up a shot. How many times this season have we seen ISU get outworked on the offensive boards? How many times do we take a quick silly shot? When we move the ball, and play defense we can play with anyone.
This team is not working together as a team, we have a group of induvials, talented yes, but that does not beat a team that has every player that knows his job and his place on the team.
We have no one that wants to rebound a missed shot, I would kill for a Hogue or someone like Murphy from Minnesota, players that love to rebound the basketball and will not just stand there, but goes and gets it. We are soft, plain and simple, I still love and support ISU, and stating our shortcomings does not make me less of a fan.
Some posters need to work on reading comprehension.
There is a whole group on this forum that does the same.Real intelligent response
Someone disagrees with me so I’ll resort to name calling. Wouldn’t expect much less though.
Was there ever any official answer as to why Lard didn't play last night?
He said he liked Conditt's energy last game so he went with him. I thought they missed a huge opportunity to use Lard in the second half when they got Owens in foul trouble. Lard is the best low post scorer on the team and Jacobson was scoring on him so I have no doubt that Lard could have abused him down low and if they doubled guys would be open from 3.

I would be shocked if Cam played another minute in an Iowa State uniform. I think that message was pretty clear when he didn’t play a minute on Saturday.

Well KSU lost 2 at home, Tech lost 1
Today was a better effort the Culver kid showed why he will be a high pick.
I’ve been through al out of isu basketball seasons and you will always have those games throughout the season that are disappointing but the big difference this year is when this team dropped a couple home games (TCU & Baylor)at home when they were still in the hunt for a championship that will be hard to get over. U would think after the home KSU game it would have been lessoned learned. This team just never seemed to get any smarter and learn from their mistakes. That’s mostly coaching.
Ultimately, yes, the coach is responsible for 18-23 year olds learning and improving. Tough job, without question.Do you realize just how ridiculous those last two sentences are, put together? So it's on the coach to learn for the players? At what point do these guys take responsibility for their own growth?
