***OFFICIAL Sucks to BU Postgame Thread***

The hawks are due for a run. Their schedule was very front loaded. They get to play Nebby twice, NW, and PSU again.

They also have Minny twice, Indiana again and Wiscy again...They have some tough games again. I'm not so sure they will beat NW again either.

The twittersphere says that the "we want vaughn" signs were taken away from some people because Scott Drew complained about them. As if he doesn't use some extra curricular activities to lure recruits...

I don't get the RPI and "Bracketology" stuff. Lunardi had us as an 11 seed before the game tonight. That doesn't mean anything. There are still 10 games + B12 tournament left. Why should we pay any attention to this stuff right now? We have 3 top 50 wins right now. But if BYU or Baylor or KSU go in the toilet to finish the year, they won't be top 50 wins any more. I just think it is pointless.

GO CYCLONES!!!

Because it's fun and gives us something to talk about during the season. I mean, this is a message board.

That doesn't point to the conference being good. Heck....the MAC could have a cluster of teams with those records and I wouldn't be calling them good. Big 12 has good balance....just like we did in FB.
You're right. A cluster at the top doesn't prove anything. But I'm frustrated by the "aw shucks" attitude. We have a very solid top 6, and I expect them to gain some respect as the season progresses. The thing that could hurt the B12 is if WVU and Texas snap out of it and start knocking off some teams in that top 6 and really muddy the waters.

Compare it to the B10 lovefest, where I would argue the bottom 7 or 8 teams are nothing special.

Eric just pointed out that if things had gone just a little bit different, Iowa State could easily be in first place in the conference right now. So true. Man, that is encouraging and frustrating.

Wanna be in first place? Win the damn games. Win out and I bet we at least tie for 1st.

That's obviously a tall task though.

Fun game tonight. Seemed like Clyburn could have gone for 50 as much as he was taking it to the hoop. great ft shooting. to be up one at half with the poor 3pt shooting was amazing. i think Austin should stay another yr. too skinny but good. Heft saidhe wasa top 10 pick in the draft this year

What a night! Jake Varner getting honored, the Rashad Vaughn chants were great, the giant sympathy card for Okoro being signed by Cyclone Alley and all topped off with a Cyclone win!

Yeah, if I were CFH I'd be ****** about the little things that could have sealed both KU and Okie State...BUT, we didn't and all you can do is win the next one.

Great win. Had to get that one.

Overall the game was kind of boring though. The timeouts really killed any momentum that we got going until late in the game.

I'm out of the loop. Whats going on with Okoro?

Wouldn't you say that we stepped ahead of most of the pack? We have two nice wins from this pack.

If (when) we beat OU, we'll have moved them out of the pack. I don't think we did anything to separate us from OSU, though, and K-State will remain ahead until someone besides us and Kansas beats them.

Observations from Saturday night's games - Men's College Basketball Nation Blog - ESPN

Iowa State is quietly putting together a decent NCAA tournament resume
. Beating Baylor at home is, in and of itself, not all that big of a deal. But in the context of Iowa State's season, it is. On Jan. 23, the Cyclones suffered a baffling loss at Texas Tech, but since then they've beaten Kansas State at home, played Oklahoma State to within two points on the road, and handled Baylor on Saturday, 79-71. This is still a team on the bubble, but it's one that is slowly but surely putting together some of the wins it needed in Big 12 play.

Eamon Brennamon is quickly becoming one of my favorite ESPN writers. He always has something good to say about ISU in these little write ups. Keep it coming dude and we will keep reading!!!!
