*** Official Selection Sunday Thread ***

If we get to a game with UConn, I can't even imagine how the refs will decide the game. 3 of our guys foul out.

I forgot to mention how badly Indiana St also got screwed.

This committee basically said tonight that conference tournaments didn't matter when ISU went from #7 in the country to #8 by destroying KSU, Baylor, and Houston in the Big 12 tourney... it was all about how you did in the regular season. Okay fine... then Indiana St for sure should have been in based on that.

The committee was not consistent whatsoever in what was important.

I wanted to see Larry Blurred aka Cream Abdul Jabbar do some damage. They would have been a game on the main TV for me.

For anyone wringing their hands over the teams in ISU's bracket... the tourney is unpredictable as hell. Take a breath. Hopefully ISU rolls next weekend. I can guarantee you that NOBODY will be excited to play ISU in this tourney.

Side note, when your team gets through the round of 64 and 32, its a phenomenal week to absorb sports talk radio. Quite the buzz you get from the opening run of the tourney.

March Madness is the quintessential "be careful what you wish for" event.

Play well, you have good odds to advance. Play poorly, you're beat. Don't fret about matchups, especially the hypotheticals.

Commissioner on ESPN again talking noncon.
I feel like that's a direct message to us.

Also it's clear the committee definitely chooses based on * narratives *. SDSU and former coach TJ? check. A&M Nebby? Check.
Nobody outside of Nebraska cares about Trev Alberts moving up. Hell most A&M fans don't know who he is.

Again with the self-contradictory statement about not valuing any part of the season over another while looking specifically at NCSOS.

Every year when they do these committee chair interviews they do not come off very intelligent.

How many times have we played the previous national champion in the tournamen? Feels like a lot.

Wasn't this the case with Uconn back in the Niang years? Wasn't that the awful ending with ohio State and red cheeks?

They gave UCONN the “overall #1 seed” and they had a terrible non con schedule as well. They only give a **** about non con schedules when it fits their narrative.

(And yes they backhandedly ****** them as well)

So the geographic distance really plays a big factor now... I think that changed a few years ago. That explains why Drake and SDSU are in Omaha.... sucks for us though.

I honestly think Drake will be the darling upset pick over the higher seeded Washington State, and could be favored, which is a tough spot that usually doesn’t work out.

I like how we match up with both, but particularly WSU as they aren’t big on threes either (slightly less makes than we have).
