Exactly. None* of those teams are in the tourney. They should focus on Q1 and then Q2 records.

Or even just the metrics like SOR\WAB that actually do what the committee chair talked about and look at the whole body of work.

But yes, when i'm looking at quad records, i tend to look at Q1 wins then Q3\4 losses, and then maybe drilling down into the quality (or lack thereof) for those.

Local news out here:

"Both the Rams and Buffs will be in the play in game, which means they'll have to win 7, not 6 games to win it all"

This committee failed big time. And not just what they did to us.... it's what they did to UConn. The overall #1 seed, and got put in the toughest region by far... all the analysts agree with this.

But you know who got screwed worse than us... Washington St. Why should they have to play Drake in their own backyard when they are seeded higher than Drake?

Anyway... horrible job this year overall by this committee.

UConn overall 1 seed in a lesser conference. UNC getting a one seed in a bad ACC.
UCONN has legitimately been a top 3 team in the country for every single day this season. You might be the only person in America that doesn’t think they should be the overall #1.

We just steamrolled KSU, Baylor and Houston, did you guys forget that already? I ain't afraid of any team in this tournament least of all any of the first 2 round matchups.

Yeah, technically if/when we make the elite 8 we can get a little grumpy about that setup if it's UConn in Boston and the other regions are decimated.

Up until then it's not that different than anywhere else would be.

The olds still have PTSD from 2000.

Call me what you will but I fully believe the committee was grasping at whatever they could to keep us out (us not being a blueblood) in favor of bluebloods; or even a bigger brand. This was the easiest excuse they could find.

I bet the CBS execs were surprised because I doubt they'd want us on camera if they didn't think there was a good chance we'd get the 1.

Or at least the top 2 in the midwest. I think either would have been something we could have been happy with.

I think one thing that is perplexing (SIAP) is Drake was a 10 seed, so a pretty safe seed for the MVC. Should have been an 11. But then if the Bulldogs were viewed as a 10, how was Indiana State left out completely and not in Dayton at least?

Which is why this is dumb. Either one is a glorified scrimmage. Why should the committee be focusing so much on that?
There's a huge difference between a 200 level team and 300 level team.

A team like Illinois State or Evansville is significantly better than your SWAC or MEAC teams.

Still wins but at least a shot at being competitive for a while.

I think I'm with you. In fact, this may be a blessing in disguise.

TJ needs to make sure all our guys feel this slap in the face, and keep it in mind each time we take the court this tournament.

That's a result of all the bid stealing. They got bumped up a line

Lol, why is everyone so terrified of Drake? They can barley fill 75% of the Knapp Center and you expect them to have some huge home-court advantage in Omaha.

Washington State is better than Drake.

I think there's an element of that but looking at some of the other seedings it also kind of feels like they have a lazy process that results in them ignoring the conference tournaments.

Yeah, a 7-10 matchup isn't screwy that way. Drake won't exactly be flooding the place.
