*** Official SELECTION SUNDAY Thread ***

Don't worry about what happens in round-of-32 or beyond, but these are my gut-picks in the 8/9 & 7/10 lines.

MIDWEST
9 Purdue over 8 Cincinnati
7 Wichita State over 10 Indiana
WEST
8 Oregon over 9 Oklahoma State
10 Ohio State over 7 VCU
EAST
8 N.C. State over 9 LSU
7 Michigan State over 10 Georgia
SOUTH
8. San Diego State over 9 St. John's
10 Davidson over 7 Iowa

Uh guys. They just got beat by Penn State. They are obviously capable of winning, but they need to get past their own heads at this point.
Absolutely, but that does not mean they got a tough draw. This is a 9 seed in Iowa playing a NIT team IMO. If they win that, they play the mid-major version of themselves in Gonzaga.

Probably mentioned all over the place on CF tonight — remember our worries about placement too close to Kentucky, too soon? It'd have to happen in the national title game.

Other than being slotted in Louisville instead of Omaha, Iowa State got as close to the best draw available, as a combination of region, opponents in subregion and 2 seed in our bracket.

Wow...UNI was the last #5, and SMU was the first #6. It would have been crazy to be in a pod with UNI.

How the h*ll is Utah the top 5 seed? PAC 12 was down this season, and Utah has 3 Top 50 wins, same as UNI.

Not really. Iowa is going to murder them. Davidson resume is pretty suspect imo and nowhere near a 10 seed. They have two notable wins on the year (Dayton and VCU). Iowa got incredibly lucky to play an over-seeded mid-major when they should have been in an 8/9 match-up.

They manipulated the computers beautifully. Play very good non-conference teams (and lose), don't lose to the many average and weak teams in your conference and get 1 or 2 good wins. How the hell are they a 10-seed like we were in 2012-13?

Jay Bilas just picked Davidson to beat Iowa. Says Davidsons has great guards. That's trouble for Iowa.

Guard play for Iowa has been rather inconsistent this season, particularly at point guarding the dribble drive. Then decisions made with the ball have been roller-coaster like. Davidson is more consistent.

Has Fred said he is interested in leaving for the NBA sometime soon and I missed it? He's already proven he doesn't want to go to the NBA just yet, turning away interest from several teams already last year. Just because he leaves the option open for SOMEDAY does not mean we need to hear about it EVERY DAY.

It is called Lazy Journalism. It is like using buzzwords. Anyone who has actually taken the time to research has come to the conclusion that Fred is not going anywhere. So why would ISU be frantically try to prevent Fred from going?

Here is the conversation:

Jamie: Fred, are you going to the NBA?
Fred: No, but I would like a bump in my salary.
Jamie: Done.

That is as frantic as it will get.

Thats assuming Fred ever asks Jamie for a bump in his salary. Sounds more like Jamie keeps bumping his salary long before he ever asks for it.

Since 2001, NCAA wins?

Davidson 3
Iowa 0

The TV media in CR last night were discussing Iowa's possibilities when Iowa beats Gonzaga. lol

Even a couple hawkeye friends of mine think they'll lose their 1st round game
