***Official purple hawk replay postgame thread***

So, what do we call someone who is a fan of both UNI and Iowa State? Pantherclone?

Sure why not.

I"m not saying there is anything wrong with that either. My commentary was not to insult anyone. Its probably quite accurate. This was (not to insult UNI) a game that felt like what the HOKS would like to be. UNI is in my mind the same style team as the HOKS, thus a better version of the Hawks. The games were very similar in results style and flow.

Thus the purple hawks. But maybe its time to call the other guys out east the yellow panthers, as I think Jacobson does it better in the long run.

Just call them by their first name. There's probably only 2 or 3 in the world.

I have close ties to UNI and followed them pretty closely when I was real young, although I don't much these days, so I must be one of the 2 or 3.

ISU is easily on top but I'd certainly root for UNI before the other state schools.

Yep it's you. We call that guy Madguy30.

I've never had issues with buffering, but the picture quality and graphics were from another era. MC22 hasn't gotten better since it started. Cyclones TV has stepped up their broadcasts by quite a bit. I'm guessing MC22 has minimal funding. Iowa State should never have to play on that channel. Save it for the SEP-Valley wrestling meets.

Especially the main camera was awful. I was watching on a really big screen, so that doesn't help, but all the close ups and commercials looked good. But when I first turned it on, I thought I was watching a replay from the late 90's.

I thought they were pretty pro-ISU (the love affair with Lard was obvious). I think Lehman is an ISU fan. He does a decent enough job. Schaben seems like a really nice guy, but he's just so corny. They weren't too bad as a team today.

Schaben has done a lot of the ISU women's games. Not sure if he is an ISU guy or just someone they contract to call the games. Always sounded like a homer when calling ISU games though.

About 10+ years ago I met Lehman in Florida. We talked a long time. We knew a lot of the same people in Waterloo/Cedar Falls. He was as assistant mbb coach at UNI for a number of years. Seemed like a really good guy. I would say he is probably a UNI fan first, but very objective and seemed knowledgeable about ISU. On a broadcast I think he does well at not showing any bias.
Early in the game he referred to ISU's unis as "maroon". Fitting since he was for a time at Dowling. My wife knew him then and doesn't have much nice to say about him.
