That really felt like a replay. They tried to muck it up as much as they could until they realized that our guys are just as happy wrestling for a half as anybody.

Then when they got slower more easily than our guys, our athletes imposed their will. Flexed the athleticism and cruised to the finish.

That felt like the best effort so far. Rebounding and D really makes a step every game. But I just think UNI is a better version of the hawks and our guys are better than they were a week ago.

Our guys had to fight through the uptick in D. Man, was that first half a ball of muck, but if our guys shot even 30 % in that 10 min 15 min stretch in the first half this one would have been U - G - L - Y.

Thought I'd mirror the laptop to the TV and improve the quality.

Nope--looked like NBA Live '95 out there.

Didn't actually hate the commentators--they knew a few things about the Big 12 and said Solomon Young looks like he eats weights.
I mirrored from my iPhone through Apple TV. It actually was pretty decent and it didn't have any pauses today.

It's generally been good with CyTV.

This MC-22 thing looked pretty bad.

Better in the 2nd half. Did have a few 80's hip hop video moments.

I've never had issues with buffering, but the picture quality and graphics were from another era. MC22 hasn't gotten better since it started. Cyclones TV has stepped up their broadcasts by quite a bit. I'm guessing MC22 has minimal funding. Iowa State should never have to play on that channel. Save it for the SEP-Valley wrestling meets.

I thought they were pretty pro-ISU (the love affair with Lard was obvious). I think Lehman is an ISU fan. He does a decent enough job. Schaben seems like a really nice guy, but he's just so corny. They weren't too bad as a team today.

They're definitely local guys but weren't really any less quality than some of the scmucks they have on ESPN these days, or at least it was understandable for any mistakes/corniness.

Were they better than TUbberville?? ;)

About 10+ years ago I met Lehman in Florida. We talked a long time. We knew a lot of the same people in Waterloo/Cedar Falls. He was as assistant mbb coach at UNI for a number of years. Seemed like a really good guy. I would say he is probably a UNI fan first, but very objective and seemed knowledgeable about ISU. On a broadcast I think he does well at not showing any bias.

He did Iowa State jobs (before cyclones.tv) when McDermott go the job. I think he's fine, but he is definitely a UNI/McDermott guy.

It wasn't cyclones.tv fault. The commercials were crystal clear. It's MC22 issue.

I noticed that.

It's nothing against MC22--seems like a typical local channel.

There's something very wrong with two basketball programs that have had recent national success being shown on it though.

I remember him doing ISU broadcasts in those days, and he was doing the homer analyst thing. Makes sense if he was a McDermott guy.

Am I correct that this was MC22 because it was a UNI "home" game?

Had it been ISU home tv rights we'd have possibly been ESPN2/ESPNU like normal or worst case a better quality broadcast through Cyclones.tv? On paper ISU/UNI is a pretty decent game for almost a decade now in terms of basketball brands.

I'm kind of thinking I'm in favor of keeping all these games neutral site as long as we improve the TV to normal standards for ISU games. The more I look at it @Drake just isn't something major programs do. 2 for 1 with UNI is something a lot of programs would do. With nearly all of our games on ESPN networks or Cyclones.tv with kinks worked out it's just this one game sometimes where it's horrific TV.

The Big 4 idea is generous, home and homes for all eternity is overly generous nostalgia.

So, what do we call someone who is a fan of both UNI and Iowa State? Pantherclone?
