***Official portal tracker thread***

Micah Harper signs . Montana safety. I didn't see his name on the tracker yet.
That's a solid addition. Could start with Awls at the safety spots.

We still need some linebackers and receivers and maybe one more running back, but overall I think this is shaping up to be a pretty good roster.

Sounds like we only have 1-2 scholarships left. I don't expect we will add a linebacker. I think you can expect us to be lighter on linebackers just with the different scheme. That SAM Linebacker will be a little big of a hybrid with Nickel. Also Wazzu had lighter linebackers at those positions, so I'm guessing a chance that we could have some safeties moved to linebacker in the new structure.

Don't we only have 8 linebackers, including the incoming freshmen?

Only eight right now, but I also think we may see a couple returning guys play more of the SAM position than safety. At the end of the day, I trust that the staff has the guys they want, and regardless of the position listing, have it covered.

Also the split right now is 43 offensive players, 48 defensive players, and five special teams. So I would guess if we have a couple more scholarships they probably go to offensive players.

Looks that way. But might be enough running a 4-2-5. Especially if a safety can slide down on pass situations. Rogers & Bobbit look to put premium on speed over size.

Also I haven't seen anything on the 6ish 2025 roster players who we didn't see enter portal or re-affirm. Curious if a kid like Stecker might be a LB in a Bobbit defense vs. safety.

Someone (sorry, I'm not sure who) asked recently how JR's transfer class, or class in general, ranks with other conference members. I don't know yet. I'll just post this (has Okla State and KSU) mentioned, otherwise compares new coaches nationally.

It is all a guessing game as far as was this a good transfer class. Ultimately, did we get the guys who fit our system? That is the biggest question. We weren't going to be able to load it down with a bunch of P4 transfers for the volume of transfers we needed. We wouldn't have had the money. So it will be interesting to ultimately see fit. It seems to me that we did a pretty good job on the O Line, D Line, and defensive backfield to get the players we wanted. Now in terms of the skill positions, I guess we will see. But ultimately the coaches know the type of player they want much better than any writers, or fans.

My wife pointed out something that I hadn't noticed recently, we live in Houston and watch the Texans a lot, lately on TV when former Cyclone players catch the ball, the announcers don't comment that "There's one of those former Cyclone players" Is it because CMC is gone? It was nice to hear. My boss who went to A & M even commented that the announcers were talking ISU too much. lol

They mentioned Higgins as a former Cyclone at least once yesterday
