I will say, this is the one thing that Campbell did for the program that will be a major help moving forward is changing the narrative around Iowa State football. Most of the kids that are being recruited or transferring have grown up seeing Iowa State consistently being a bowl-eligible team and being in the top half of the big 12. The winning seasons also increased fan engagement and helped with the overall gameday atmosphere that is a selling point. I am still not thrilled with how many players he took to PSU, but he at least gave Jimmy some selling points going into the transfer season to rebuild the roster

Rarely is a single item that leads to success. Typically it will be a combination of things such as recent success.
I'll add that Jamie Pollard set the foundation for CMC with a vision to build the game day environment and facilities that has helped with game day experience and recruiting. When those kids and their families come to The Jack and Hilton from the south and go under the bridge for the first time, that is an impressive sight for any college with the bridge, facilities, Hilton.....
My point is, we have something worth selling and appealing to athletes. Sometimes we fall into a funk and forget what we do have to offer, which is pretty impressive.

The hawkeyes have been recruiting more off of NFL success than their own success for years. That's the centerpiece of their recruiting pitch. It's nice that we have some success stories of our own to sell now.
Essentially, QB's were getting the ball out in 2-3 seconds. So Heacock decided it didn't make sense to waste a 4th DL rushing when they aren't going to be able to get there that fast and just add a DB to coverage to take out a passing window.
Sorry I'm a little testy about misinformation this morning, I have a Construction client from Idaho arguing with me about how he paid a couple of his workers because he "saw a video about it on you tube" and the video is completely wrong.
Yeah, I don't think a single coach or anyone associated with the program ever said the reason for the switch was because it was hard to recruit the D-line. I think CW and Blum said many times that it was the hardest position to find talent, so it made sense to play more linebackers and d-backs. But I don't think they ever said that was the reason for the change. The idea was just to get more speed on the field to defend the spread offenses that were ravaging the conference at the time. It worked, so we stuck with it.
Just based on who we put in the NFL during the Campbell era, I'd argue the O-Line was our least talented position group and the one we had the most trouble recruiting, especially high school guys. Some of our best players ended up being transfers.
Essentially he had an employee mark "Exempt" on his W4 so my client is arguing that the employee marking exempt makes his $60K pay in 2025 exempt from reporting and taxes. Which is not true at all. Marking "exempt" on your W4 just means you elect to not have taxes withheld from your pay check, you still have to report it via a W2 and file/pay taxes.
