Campbell should get ZERO credit for anything positive that happens next year at ISU. He left Rogers with NOTHING…. cleaned house. F him!

If Ped State struggles, it might have more to do with not having Jon Heacock as a DC rather than the players not being talented enough.
I agree. I think a lot of recent ISU success can be credited to Heacock - his bend don't break defense won a lot of close games.
He played on a defense that had no interest in creating sacks though.
Sure enjoyed playing patty cake with the offensive line though.
He was really quick in high school, but we had him bulk up to 285 and he lost that quickness that he used to have.
Credit for future....NO. There's nobody left to carry that torch. CJR (Had to think about who our coach was for a second) set the culture tone and difference during the Iowa/Iowa State basketball game. I'm actually looking forward to next season. Just think about next years transfer portal process. We will lose a couple players BUT we will only need Quality out of the portal not Quantity.
Now you could give Matt some credit for national attention and making ISU a desireable location? But only a small piece.
Matt gets credit with everything prior to when he left. With the dismantling and rebuilding of the roster, any positive that happens from here forward is all credited to Jimmy Rogers and his staff.

Except Campbell inherited a lot more talent from Rhodes than Jimmy received. So give Rhodes some credit.

When your strength and conditioning coach wants to build body builders and not athletes, this happens a lot. Also, increased injuries

And the tail end of Rhoads’ era, there wasn’t a lot of talent here. He all but gave up on recruiting his last two seasons here.
I would be surprised if HS kids aren't asking/getting money as well.
But I get your point, once you get past the 4/5 star HS players the money probably drops off considerably depending on school/player.
It would be interesting to see approaches schools take. For instance at a school that has House Settlement plus NIL and has say $30M to spend, do all 85-105 scholarship players get a fixed amount and then guys who play get a specified bonus?
For example a school that has $30M could pay 90 players $150,000 apiece and still have $16.5M to pay out in bonuses.
Would be fun to see individual player pay for each team- even if names were not attached.
