Correct it does not make me an expert, and hating unions and what they do doesn't either. How is the $20 million cap working right now? Without a union, you cannot have collective bargaining to put into place rules that must be followed. But like I said, it works in all other professional sports, but you think it somehow would not work here.

That is what cracks me up.

The difference is union members are employees of a company, NFL, NBA , MLB are employees. As of now NCAA athletes are NOT employees.

Nothing but a flood of outgoing and no incoming, I am going to go melt down privately until the tide turns.
Won't have definite incoming until the portal officially opens. If you want a few that are EXTREMELY likely to be coming:

Anthoiny Polano, LB Washington State. RS Freshman that followed Rogers from SDSU and has announced he will enter.

Carter Pabst, WR Washington State. Freshman that was committed to SDSU before Rogers went to Washington State and has announced he will enter.

Max Baloun DT Washington State. RS Senior that followed Rogers from SDSU and has announced he will enter. Will have a medical RS this season due to injury.

Kirby Vorhees RB Washington State . RS Sophomore that followed Rogers from SDSU and has announced he will enter.

I'm in training and can sue the NCAA for eligibility if we need help.
Man, I need to use this excuse when someone asks if I’ve gained some weight. I can tell them I’m bulking up to help the football team. My son starts next year at ISU. He doesn’t have a roomie, but he does now!!

OP has been editing his post on page 1 as things become known

Except he hasn't put Malcolm Watkins on the incoming.

As I stated before I have a feeling that Jimmy and gang are going to keep things close to their vest. And it's a natural thing since they are new here and don't have a repour with the "insiders" yet.

Just because you announce doesn’t mean you will get into the portal. I announce many nights to my wife that I’m going to enter the portal and she usually denies my access.

Problem is I'd actually need to gain weight to play again lol, currently 200ish lbs. Gaining weight has been a problem all my life, it drives everyone in my family nuts to see how much and unhealthy I eat but don't get fat.

My college gf's dad used to joke that when I was done with FB I would balloon up to 300 lbs because of how I ate, I saw him about 5 years after I graduated and he about fainted when he saw I was actually smaller than when I played FB.

Age does play a big role, every 10 years and your metabolism will slow down. You may be lucky that it was so quick to start that it will take longer.

There is zero reason for a senior next year to stay here if they can get more money somewhere else.

Bacon and Rocco have to move on if they can get more money elsewhere. They are not NFL guys and it's not like basketball where you can earn overseas. After next year they are into the rest of their lives. They gotta take the money. Stupid not to.

And after Brahmer's injuries the last couple years, there are no guarantees for him either, take the money.
Using this logic then one has to be looking at academics first and not football. Transferring to a school that has different requirements or maybe not even your major might mean another year of school when you’re not even playing. Academics is a big part of the equation too.

I’m the opposite. I wrestled in college. I joke that the next time I see my wrestling weight I’ll have been dead for six months! (I’m not overweight at 175, but 126 was a long time ago!)

For most higher NIL FB players it doesn’t matter.

Not too many 3 star players would be in that category. The entire discussion was about them leaving for $, but I’d wager the difference won’t be so profound as what the costs might be for most ISU players.
Problem is the 50k to a 20 year old sounds like major money. So much that they may not think they will lose that with another year of school.

Academics used to be a big part of the discussion, now, forget it. When was the last time a player moved we were talking about them graduating and getting a degree. This is all about money and the academic part is far down the list.
"Oh, you can stay here and get your degree or go to that other school and get a large sum of money," the athlete will take the money 99% out of 100% of the time.

Honestly the way Tech did it was smart. Pay your guys in the trenches, and hope you have recruited a good QB on your roster.
Thats how you play moneyball and spend money for best ROI. Campbell provides a ton of money but he (or his assigned GM) is also doing smart job at spending it.
